Project Overview: Bechtel and Westinghouse Electric Company have partnered to deliver the first AP1000 nuclear power reactors in Poland for our customer, the Polish Entity Polskie Elektrownie Jadrowe (PEJ). Bechtel will be the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor for the project. As the EPC, our responsibilities will include providing the design for the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant as well as the construction of the entire facility. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity, and we are looking for the talent that will help expand Poland’s nuclear base and build a strong and long-lasting energy future for generations to come. This position is subject to U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) regulations at 10 CFR Part 810 (Part 810), which govern the transfer of hardware, materials, and technology to support the construction and operation of commercial nuclear power plants overseas. Job Summary: In this role, you will provide leadership, planning and strategy development for subcontract change management, requests for equitable adjustments, and claims activities on the AP 1000 program. Working with the Subcontracts Program Manager and Project Management, you will formulate strategies, provide necessary processes and procedures for successful execution of the program, and manage project Subcontracts functional personnel, while reporting directly to the Project Subcontracts Program Manager for a major/mega project with exceptional scope. Major Responsibilities: Role will be based in Gdansk, Poland with frequent (up to daily) travel to the Project Jobsite. Participates in defining and implementing Subcontract Management strategies including commercial pricing structure, subcontract packaging strategies, and prepare and coordinating Contracts plans, procedures, schedules, estimates, forecasts, and budgets. Develops commercial strategies related to change management and oversees the development and successful execution of negotiation plans while supporting the development and fostering of collaborative, successful business relationships with subcontractors which focuses on the mutual success of both parties. Supports the preparation and/or directs preparation of commercial terms and conditions for use on all project Contract and purchase documents, ensuring that requirements of the prime contract are incorporated. Supports preparation and seeking approval of Contracts recommendations for award including cross functional collaboration to ensure subcontracts are within approved budgets. Develops, coordinates, and makes Contracts presentations to project and/or customer personnel. Requests and prepares any necessary delegations of Contracts authority for Contract commitments. Supports recruitment of Contracts team. Prepares or directs preparation of the project Contracts procedures in conjunction with the Project Subcontracts Program Manager and global business unit functional management; contributes to the project procedures; monitors the Contracts team’s implementation of the project procedures; revises procedures and secures approvals as necessary. Drives the development of the project execution plan, Supply Chain Assignment Schedule and division of responsibility to define project, field and support office roles and responsibilities. Coordinates Contracts plans with Engineering and Construction plans and Operations to ensure that input from these functional groups will enable Contracts to perform its operations in accordance with project plans. Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the Company. Manages the work efforts of project subcontracts managers. Prepares and delivers presentations for Supply Chain Symposiums and Trainings as required to external stakeholders and the supply chain market. Has direct interface with Customer and other key stakeholders including Ministry Officials and responsible for developing and maintaining a collaborative working environment to successfully delivering on Project deliverables and commitments. Education and Experience Requirements: Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience Required Knowledge and Skills: Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Intermediate Knowledge of standard computer applications such as Microsoft Office.
