About the role We are looking for a Supervisor Production to help Rio Tinto Iron Ore deliver safe, productive and sustainable mining outcomes. In this role, you will lead a large team of operators, drive operational performance and contribute to a culture where safety, inclusion and continuous improvement are embedded in everyday work. Reporting to the Superintendent Production, this is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys leading people in a dynamic operational environment and wants to broaden their leadership impact. What you'll be doing Lead and support a large team of operators to safely achieve production, quality and operational targets. Ensure compliance with Rio Tinto health, safety and environmental standards, policies and procedures. Coordinate daily mine production activities to maximise equipment utilisation and operational efficiency. Monitor shift performance and implement actions to maintain delivery against production plans. Build capability through ongoing coaching, training and performance development of team members. Promote inclusive behaviours and consistent leadership practices that strengthen engagement and accountability. Collaborate with maintenance, technical and mining stakeholders to optimise operational outcomes. Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities that enhance safety, productivity and reliability. Demonstrated experience working in a large-scale open pit mining environment. Proven experience leading large operational teams within a production mining operation. Experience monitoring and delivering operational performance against production targets. Ability to build team capability through coaching, training and performance leadership. An unrestricted manual C Class Driver’s Licence. Helpful for Success Restricted or Unrestricted Quarry Manager’s Ticket. Certificate IV or higher in Frontline Management. Diploma in Metalliferous Mining. Exposure to mine planning systems.
