Surgical Technologist Nights

Shift : Monday - Friday, 9am to 7:30pm, 4 ten hour days. Fair share call / holidays Work Arrangement : On-Site Department : Operating Room University Hospital Facility : University Hospital – 1 Hospital Drive, Columbia, MO Compensation : · Base Pay Range: $25.32 to $39.99 per hour, based on experience · Special Pay: Additional $1.88 per hour until January 2, 2027 · Shift Differentials: Additional $2 per hour evenings/nights/weekends · Retention Rewards: Up to $15,000 o Relocation Support: Additional $5,000 if moving from over 50 miles away o Retention Reward (Option 1): $2,000 per year for up to 5 years, totaling $10,000 o Student Loan Repayment (Option 2): $2,000 per year for student loans, up to 5 years, totaling $10,000 · Note: Details will be provided during the HR interview. DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION · Anticipate the needs of the surgical team. · Assist with the teaching of newly hired technologists and student technologists; Serve as a role model to new employees and other staff members. · Communicate effectively with patients, staff members, and physicians; Adherence to standards including but not limited to unit and hospital policies and procedures, regulatory standards, and patient safety goals. · Competent at the unit level. · Demonstrate appropriate and correct case preparation. · Establish and maintain a sterile field and ensure the team maintains a sterile environment independently. Apply basic knowledge of instrumentations to several cases. Correct any deficiencies at the case level. · Perform technical duties involving care, preparation, and maintenance of sterile and non-sterile supplies and equipment in the operating rooms to provide a safe and effective environment. · May complete unit/department-specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS · High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired. · One (1) year of experience as a surgical technologist; or completion of an accredited surgical tech program, the MU Health Care Surgical Tech program, or military training may be substituted for the experience.
