Apply Description Status Quo Sucks. If that statement makes you smile instead of cringe, we should probably talk. BCI Solutions isn't looking for someone to keep a foundry running. We're looking for someone who wants to make it better. Someone who sees process variation where others see "good enough." Someone who enjoys chasing root causes, challenging assumptions, improving systems, and building a culture of technical excellence. As Technical Director, you'll own the science behind our gray and ductile iron foundry. From core, mold, melt chemistry and sand systems to defect analysis, process capability, and technical development, your fingerprints will be on every improvement we make. If you're looking for a position where your expertise drives real change instead of maintaining the status quo, this is it. What You'll Own You won't simply manage a laboratory. You'll lead the technical direction of the foundry by: Owning the metallurgy of our gray and ductile iron operations. Driving continuous improvement across core, melting, molding, sand, and process control. Leading defect investigations using metallurgical analysis and data. Developing systems that improve quality, consistency, and productivity. Partnering with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance to solve difficult manufacturing challenges. Mentoring and developing technical talent throughout the organization. Evaluating new technologies, materials, and manufacturing practices that move the business forward. Who Thrives Here? The people who succeed at BCI don't wait for someone else to fix problems. They take ownership. They ask better questions. They make decisions backed by data. They tell the truth, even when it's uncomfortable. They help others succeed. And they understand that the best results come from teams, not individuals. Why BCI? Technical leaders do their best work when they're trusted to lead, challenged to improve, and supported by a company that's committed to the long term. At BCI, you'll find: Real ownership. You'll have the authority to influence technical decisions, improve processes, and help shape the future of our foundry. A culture of continuous improvement. "Status Quo Sucks" isn't a slogan. It's an expectation that every process can be improved. A collaborative leadership team. Work alongside experienced operations, engineering, quality, and manufacturing leaders who value technical expertise and practical solutions. Long-term stability. As a family-owned company with more than 85 years of manufacturing excellence, we invest in sustainable growth rather than short-term results. Resources to succeed. We believe in investing in people, equipment, technology, and training that support world-class manufacturing. Competitive compensation. Salary is commensurate with experience and includes a comprehensive benefits package. Relocation assistance for qualified candidates. Free onsite primary care physician for employees enrolled in our medical plan. More Than a Job This is an opportunity to build a legacy. The systems you develop, the people you mentor, and the improvements you implement will shape our foundry for years to come. If you're looking for a place where your technical expertise will be respected, your ideas will be heard, and your work will leave a lasting impact, you'll find it at BCI.
