Technical Lead

Job Overview

We are looking for a Technical Lead to drive technical excellence, lead AI adoption across engineering workflows, and mentor developers within our high-performance team. Working closely with product, design, and leadership teams across Vietnam and the US, you will align technical execution with business goals to deliver scalable, high-impact systems.

What You'll Lead

You will set the technical direction across two core initiatives:

• Payments: Own billing infrastructure, subscription lifecycles, payment gateway integrations, webhook reliability, multi-currency cross-border flows, and financial reconciliation at scale.
• Marketplace: Drive backend architecture for discovery, search/ranking, matching, availability, dynamic pricing, and transactional flows scaling from thousands to millions of users.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Direction & Architecture: Define backend architectural patterns and engineering standards (API design, data modeling, testing). Drive solution design for complex features while balancing velocity with long-term maintainability.
• Hands-on Engineering: Write clean, testable code for core platform foundations and critical migrations. Conduct deep, fast code reviews across sub-squads.
• AI-First Engineering: Champion AI-assisted development (code generation, testing, automated reviews) and collaborate on integrating practical AI features directly into workflows.
• Mentorship & Growth: Coach engineers through technical discussions, design reviews, and pairing. Conduct technical assessments and interviews to raise hiring standards.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Serve as the technical voice in product discovery alongside PMs, BAs, QA, and Design to shape scalable user-facing features.

Candidate Qualifications

Must-Have

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience, with 2+ years in a Technical Lead or equivalent role (startup founder or high-growth startup experience preferred).
• Strong backend fundamentals: distributed systems, event-driven architectures, data modeling, API design, scalability, and reliability.
• Hands-on domain experience in at least 2 of the following: Payments/Fintech, Marketplace/Platforms, B2B SaaS, or AI/LLM Engineering.
• Fluent English communication skills to collaborate directly with US-based product and executive teams.
• An AI-first engineering mindset with a track record of raising technical standards across teams.

Preferred

• US/UK education or international work experience combining global best practices with local team collaboration.
• Tech stack familiarity: Node.js, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, AWS, Docker, or equivalent.

Work Details & Benefits

• Locations: Da Nang or Ha Noi offices (On-site: Mon – Fri, 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM). Relocation package provided for candidates relocating from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang.
