Job Description Summary Join GE Vernova's pioneering Nuclear Risk-Informed Maintenance (RIM) Engineering team and help shape the future of clean energy. We are developing the maintenance strategies that will enable a transformational advanced reactor design to operate safely, reliably, and efficiently for decades to come. As Technical Lead, you'll be at the forefront of this innovation, orchestrating a team of talented engineers to deliver the technical foundation that powers next-generation nuclear energy. You won't just manage work; you'll lead a team that's solving some of the most complex reliability and maintenance challenges in the industry. Your leadership will directly impact how millions of people access clean, reliable power. In this role, you'll drive team execution using agile methodologies, ensure on-time delivery of high-quality technical work, mentor the next generation of nuclear engineers, and partner with your manager to build a high-performing team. You'll work across design, systems engineering, and operations to ensure our maintenance strategies are not just technically sound, but practical and implementable. Job Description Essential Responsibilities The RIM Engineering team is responsible for the development and optimization of Maintenance Strategies for new Reactor Designs. As a Technical Lead, you will be responsible for: Work Planning & Execution: Develop and manage teamwork plans aligned with 13-week rolling schedules and near-term task assignments Allocate resources and assign work to team members based on skills, capacity, and development opportunities Monitor project execution and technical deliverables; ensure scope, quality, and on-time delivery (OTD) against SQDC priorities (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) Conduct in-process reviews of technical work for scope and quality; facilitate post-job critiques and share learnings with the broader team Perform & Communicate risk management & mitigation for assigned work Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership on complex RIM engineering issues; understand how maintenance strategy work (FMEA, RCM, asset optimization) fits together across the portfolio Possess sufficient technical familiarity with maintenance strategy programs and processes to guide team execution, quality-check deliverables, and escalate risks early Work with the manager on scoping decisions and risk management; communicate and mitigate technical and schedule risks Serve as backup for the manager as needed Provide input to the Manager on individual contributor performance Cross-Functional Collaboration: Facilitate communication between RIM team members and across other engineering groups (e.g., design, systems engineering, procurement) Work on technical issues within the team and across teams as necessary Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering Discipline (such as Nuclear, Mechanical, or related field) from an accredited college or university At least 8 years of progressive experience related to commercial Nuclear Plant Maintenance, Operations, PRA, Reliability Programs, asset management, or system design engineering Eligibility Requirements For US: The preferred work locations for this role are: GVH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC, U.S., or U.S. Based Hub such as Atlanta, GA. For Canada: GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in Canada for this opening. For Canada: This position will report onsite to the Markham office 3 days a week. This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government. Desired Qualifications Strong self-starter with proven ability to independently manage work planning, task assignment, and accountability for on-time delivery Familiarity with maintenance engineering concepts (preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, RCM principles, FMEA) Ability to understand technical complexity across multiple domains Proven team leadership experience Excellent communication skills; ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of Reliability Centered Maintenance principles and application Experience with preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance (CBM) methodologies Proven ability to lead or perform Failure Modes and Effects Analyses Hands-on experience with Asset Performance Management (APM) or Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) Familiarity with various condition monitoring technologies (e.g., vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis) Knowledge of lifecycle and aging management programs for plant equipment Understanding of outage and work planning processes Familiarity with industry data and standards, such as the EPRI PM Basis Database (PMBD) Experience with equipment performance trending and analysis Leadership & Project Management: Proficiency with Jira or similar agile tracking tools Experience leading teams or projects in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment Familiarity with nuclear safety analyses, reliability programs, or Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA) Analytical Skills: Strong capabilities in both qualitative and quantitative risk assessments Ability to interpret complex engineering data to derive actionable insights A systematic and effective approach to solving complex technical challenges Professional Attributes: A proven ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment Meticulous and precise in all aspects of work, from data entry to final analysis A proactive mindset geared towards learning, adapting to new technologies, and continuously improving processes Detail-oriented; committed to quality and precision in technical work Collaborative and adaptable; comfortable working across functional boundaries Growth mindset; committed to continuous improvement and learning. Relocation Assistance Provided: Yes For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $111,200.00 and $213,200.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
