Job Description Summary The Work That Matters The world's energy future depends on machines that can do more with less. At GE Vernova, our steam turbines sit at the heart of combined-cycle power plants — driving decarbonization by enabling higher efficiency, fuel flexibility across hydrogen and e-fuels, and even carbon capture integration. The blading and steampath systems you will own here are not a component on a drawing; they are the technology that makes cleaner, more powerful energy possible at scale. As a Steampath Technical Leader within our Steam Turbine Engineering team, you will hold full design lifecycle ownership for steampath calculation methodologies and component technology across new unit requisition projects. You will lead a global team of steampath engineers, partner closely with core design teams, and serve as a technical anchor across structures, rotor dynamics, thermodynamics, manufacturing, and field operations. If you are energized by solving problems no one has fully solved before — and by developing the engineers who will solve the next generation — this role was designed for you. Job Description What You'll Do Lead a global engineering team: Mentor and develop a cross-regional group of Steampath Engineers, enabling both their technical depth and long-term career growth across new unit requisition and service project streams. Own steampath design from concept to field: Drive the full design lifecycle for stationary (nozzle) and rotating (bucket/blade) blading and rotor calculations on combined-cycle steam turbine requisition projects, from conceptual design through field validation using GE Vernova's Tollgate Process. Ensure design integrity and quality: Lead and review engineering analyses to confirm robust designs that meet all critical-to-quality (CTQ) requirements — applying your expertise in mechanical design fundamentals, material behavior, fatigue life (low-cycle fatigue/high-cycle fatigue), creep, finite element analysis (FEA), and computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Shape platform strategy and technology advancement: Collaborate with Product Line, Application Engineering, Product Service, and System Integration Leads (SILs) to drive steampath and shaftline platform strategy, including technology enhancements and product structuring. Deliver with cross-functional excellence: Work seamlessly with Drafting, Sourcing, and Manufacturing teams to execute product lifecycle management (PLM) deliverables on time and with quality, while championing LEAN principles and continuous improvement. Elevate the customer experience: Lead customer-interface improvement initiatives, enhance installation and constructability documentation, and reduce project cycle time through higher-quality, more usable engineering outputs. What You Bring You are a seasoned steam turbine engineer who combines deep technical mastery with the confidence to lead a global team and the curiosity to keep pushing what's possible. Required Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or equivalent knowledge and experience Significant experience in steam turbine design Proficiency in English (written and verbal) Demonstrated expertise in mechanical design fundamentals, including material properties, strength of materials, fluid dynamics, fatigue life methods (LCF/HCF), creep analysis, and FEA Preferred Master's degree in an Engineering discipline, or completion of GE Vernova's Edison Engineering Development Program Experience in steam turbine rotating and stationary component design (buckets, blades, design processes, and procedures) Familiarity with full manufacturing processes for power generation equipment, including forgings, machining, and factory assembly/testing Proficiency in a second language such as German, French, Spanish, or Polish Strong project leadership skills with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple simultaneous workstreams How You Work You lead by example — safety, quality, delivery, and cost (S-Q-D-C) are not abstract values but daily practices You communicate with clarity and confidence across technical and non-technical audiences You navigate complexity without losing sight of the outcome, and you bring others with you You are a clear thinker who can manage conflict constructively and drive solutions to difficult problems Why GE Vernova GE Vernova employees rise to the challenge of building a world that works. We offer a robust benefits package designed to reward high performers and support your personal and family needs — including programs built around the way you live and work today. You will have access to meaningful on-the-job learning and development, and a clear path to continued growth. When you join our Steam Turbine Engineering team, you gain full ownership of a critical technology — with the scope of your impact limited only by your initiative and imagination.
