The Team You're Joining

The People Operations Team supports employee experience across the entire employee lifecycle, from hiring and onboarding to payroll, benefits, employee administration, and offboarding.
As SFOC continues to grow in Japan, the team is building sustainable HR processes and practices that support both organizational effectiveness and employee well-being in close collaboration with Seoul Headquarters and local partners.

How You'll Contribute

Manage day-to-day HR operations for the Japan office, including onboarding, employee records, benefits administration, leave management, and employee inquiries.
Coordinate monthly payroll processes with external vendors and support administration related to social insurance, taxation, and employment documentation.
Coordinate recruitment operations, including interview scheduling, candidate communication, offer administration, and onboarding preparation.
Ensure compliance with Japanese labor regulations and internal policies, including the operation of employment rules, leave administration, and HR documentation.
Partner with the Seoul People Operations Team to establish, improve, and scale HR processes as the Japan entity continues to grow.

Who We're Looking For

5+ years of experience in HR Operations, People Operations, HR Administration, or a related field.
Working knowledge of Japanese employment practices, payroll administration, and employee lifecycle management.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills in Japanese and the ability to collaborate effectively with local and international colleagues.
A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and willingness to build processes in a growing organization.

Nice to Have

Experience working in an international organization, NGO, nonprofit, or mission-driven environment.
Experience managing payroll vendors, social insurance procedures, or employment-related compliance matters in Japan.
Professional proficiency in English or Korean.
Experience supporting HR process implementation, HR systems, or organizational growth projects.

Workplace: hybrid, Tokyo office. Possible assignment to overseas offices, 4+ business trips per year including to Korea, and remote work available.
Compensation: annual salary starting from JPY 4.2 million, negotiable based on prior salary and experience. Annual salary system with no bonus; discretionary labor system applied, including overtime allowance equivalent to 40 hours per month.
Working hours: 9:00 to 18:00 (8 hours/day), flexible working system available. Holidays are Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays. Paid leave is 20 days per year, prorated in the first year based on start date.
Benefits: social insurance coverage (health insurance, welfare pension, employment insurance, workers' compensation insurance), annual health check up subsidy, self development allowance of up to JPY 120,000 per year on a reimbursement basis, company laptop provided, and paid overtime meals for in office overtime work.
The role begins as a 1-year contract, with the possibility of a 1-year extension based on team feedback. Conversion to a permanent position will be considered after 2 years of continuous employment. Working visa sponsorship is available for successful candidates where needed. The employment contract will be managed through an EOR (Employer of Record) provider.

日本オフィスにおける日常的な人事・労務業務を担当していただきます。具体的には、オンボーディング、従業員情報の管理、福利厚生手続き、休暇管理、従業員からの問い合わせ対応などを含みます。
外部ベンダーと連携し、月次給与計算プロセスを円滑に進めるとともに、社会保険、税務、雇用関連書類に関する事務手続きをサポートしていただきます。
面接日程の調整、候補者とのコミュニケーション、入社準備など、採用活動に関わる実務をサポートしていただきます。
就業規則、休暇管理、人事関連書類の運用を含め、日本の労働関連法令および社内ポリシーに沿った人事・労務管理を推進していただきます。
日本法人の成長に合わせて、ソウルのPeople Operations Teamと協働しながら、人事プロセスの整備・改善・スケール化に取り組んでいただきます。

こんな方を求めています

HR Operations、People Operations、人事労務、人事管理、または関連領域における5年以上の実務経験をお持ちの方。
日本における雇用慣行、給与計算、労務管理、従業員ライフサイクルに関する基本的な知識をお持ちの方。
複数の業務や関係者を調整しながら、スピード感のある環境で着実に業務を進められる高いオーガナイズ力をお持ちの方。
日本語での優れたコミュニケーション能力を有し、国内外のメンバーと円滑に協働できる方。
課題に対して主体的に取り組み、成長段階にある組織で仕組みをつくっていくことに前向きな方。

国際的な組織、NGO、非営利団体、またはミッションドリブンな環境での勤務経験。
