What impact you’ll make As a member of the GE Vernvova Team, you will lead the execution and transformation of the Tool Room into a highly accountable, service-oriented organization capable of supporting the growth of the Parsippany facility. You will be responsible for building the operational discipline, standard work, workplace structure, and team culture required to move from a small-shop model to a scalable, multi-shift operation. In this role, you will drive preventive maintenance plan execution, establish standards for routine work, create effective approaches for non-standard work, and lead the physical and cultural modernization of the Tool Room. Job Description Key Responsibilities: Lead daily Tool Room operations to support manufacturing safety, quality, delivery, and productivity objectives Drive accountability, performance management, and operational discipline across all shifts Implement daily management systems to prioritize work, manage backlog, and improve responsiveness Establish and sustain standard work, 5S, visual management, and lean manufacturing practices Manage preventive maintenance programs to improve fixture reliability and reduce reactive maintenance Develop structured processes for routine and non-routine tooling, repair, and fabrication activities Partner with Manufacturing and Engineering teams to resolve recurring issues and improve operational performance Support Tool Room modernization through process improvements, equipment upgrades, and advanced manufacturing technologies Lead, coach, and develop Tool Room personnel, including cross-training and change management initiatives Monitor key performance indicators, including maintenance completion, turnaround time, schedule adherence, and customer support effectiveness Required Qualifications: Ability to work 1st shift (8am-5pm) Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant technical/manufacturing experience OR a HS Diploma/GED with 10+ years of experience in tool room operations, machining, or maintenance Leadership & Execution: Minimum of 3 years of experience leading teams in a manufacturing environment, with a proven track record of driving execution, accountability, and operational discipline Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of machining, fixture maintenance, tooling practices, and general manufacturing support operations. Operational Systems: Experience managing preventive maintenance systems, standard work implementation, and shop floor organization Change & Process Improvement: Demonstrated ability to lead change in team behaviors and shop practices using lean principles, 5S, visual management and daily management systems Digital Proficiency: Competency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint) and professional planning or tracking software Eligibility Requirements: Must be able to work on-site in Parsippany, NJ This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government export restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Persons (U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents and protected individuals (e.g., certain refugees and asylees)). The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
