Is this job info correct?

Requisition Id 17006 Overview: We are seeking a Training Program Lead for the Spallation Neutron Source (SNS) at Oak Ridge National Lab (ORNL). In this role, you will ensure training requirements are defined, implemented, tracked, and continuously improved across SNS organizations, including support for facility users and nonemployee/student training. This position resides in the Reactor Certifications & Qualifications Group, Business Management Services Section, Research Reactors Division (RRD), Neutron Sciences Directorate at ORNL — note that despite the section name, this role supports the SNS, an accelerator-based facility. The SNS produces neutrons through spallation, using an accelerator to fire short proton pulses at a liquid mercury target, generating neutrons for instruments supporting research in physics, chemistry, biology, and materials science. ORNL is the largest U.S. Department of Energy science and energy laboratory, conducting research to deliver transformative solutions in energy and security. Major Duties/Responsibilities: Implement and maintain the NScD Training and Qualification Plan (TQP), assessing staff training requirements based on hazards, environmental impacts, work performed, and site/facility access needs. Serve as a consultant to supervisors, Division Training Officers (DTOs), and staff on training requirements; execute select DTO responsibilities for new or revised requirements and coordinate implementation across multiple organizations. Manage training assignments using ORNL's learning management system (LMS); track completion and assess training/qualification status across SNS organizations, driving improvement in partnership with DTOs and supervisors. Support management of training requirements for facility users, nonemployees, and students, ensuring consistent processes and resolving issues with program staff. Help define and prioritize training initiatives; coordinate DTO activities to implement new requirements and corrective actions; represent SNS in ORNL-level training strategy planning. Serve as the primary instructional design resource for SNS-specific training, including developing documented training plans and reviewing and maintaining training records. Evaluate SNS training program effectiveness relative to the risk, hazard, and complexity of the work; serve as SNS point-of-contact for training and qualification inquiries, interfacing with ORNL training organizations on dissemination and issue resolution. Deliver ORNL’s mission by aligning behaviors, priorities, and interactions with our core values of Impact, Integrity, Teamwork, Safety, and Service. Promote equal opportunity by fostering a respectful workplace – in how we treat one another, work together, and measure success. Basic Qualifications: BS/BA degree and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Demonstrated experience managing training/qualification requirements in a complex operations and/or research environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Articulate 360 or comparable instructional design/authoring software. Strong writing skills and ability to communicate clearly with highly trained technical staff and management. Demonstrated ability to apply multiple quality standards across diverse technical organizations, programs, and projects. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and multi-tasking ability. Strong analytical skills, project management capability, and customer service orientation. Ability to interpret, communicate, and implement complex requirements and instructions. Ability to work independently and collaboratively across the laboratory, with effective facilitation and training skills in a fast-paced operations and research environment. Technical background in conduct of operations, quality assurance, configuration management, or related fields. Special Requirements: This position requires access to technology that is subject to export control requirements. Successful candidates must be qualified for such access without an export control license. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Benefits at ORNL: We offer competitive pay and benefits programs to attract and retain hardworking people! The laboratory offers many employee benefits, including medical and retirement plans and flexible work hours, to help you and your family live happy and healthy. Employee amenities such as on-site fitness, banking, and cafeteria facilities are also provided for convenience. Other benefits include the following: Prescription Drug Plan, Dental Plan, Vision Plan, 401(k) Retirement Plan, Contributory Pension Plan, Life Insurance, Disability Benefits, Generous Vacation and Holidays, Parental Leave, Legal Insurance with Identity Theft Protection, Employee Assistance Plan, Flexible Spending Accounts, Health Savings Accounts, Wellness Programs, Educational Assistance, and Employee Discounts. Relocation Assistance is available. If you have difficulty using the online application system or need an accommodation to apply due to a disability, please email: [email protected] #LK-1 This position will remain open for a minimum of 5 days after which it will close when a qualified candidate is identified and/or hired. We accept Word (.doc, .docx), Adobe (unsecured .pdf), Rich Text Format (.rtf), and HTML (.htm, .html) up to 5MB in size. Resumes from third party vendors will not be accepted; these resumes will be deleted and the candidates submitted will not be considered for employment. ORNL is an equal opportunity employer.
