Join the company defining what it means to be an Impact Lender! Mortgages are what we do, but that doesn't define who we are. In 2008, Movement disrupted the industry with the innovative 6-7-1 mortgage process. In 2023, we pioneered again, helping launch Impact Lending – a new category of lending. Any mortgage lender that commits at least 10% of its profits to helping the neighborhoods it serves is an Impact Lender. At Movement, we are Impact Lenders. We give 40%-50% of our profits to making an impact in our communities. For us, purpose and people have always come before profit. RESPONSIBILITIES (Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following): Own the end-to-end execution, settlement, and reconciliation of whole loan sales, servicing releases, co-issue transactions, bulk loan deliveries, and MSR transactions. Serve as the primary point of contact for investors, custodians, due diligence providers, subservicers, warehouse lenders, and internal business partners throughout the transaction lifecycle. Direct all trade allocation, pool management, redelivery, exception resolution, and settlement activities to ensure timely and accurate delivery of assets. Review, validate, and reconcile trade confirmations, funding schedules, purchase advices, wire instructions, settlement statements, and servicing transfer documentation. Manage trade-level economics and perform detailed analyses of pricing discrepancies, purchase advice variances, servicing adjustments, fees, penalties, and breakage calculations. Coordinate issue resolution with Capital Markets, Secondary Marketing, Post-Closing, Accounting, Treasury, Servicing, Legal, and Compliance teams to remove purchase and settlement obstacles. Monitor investor performance, settlement timelines, and counterparty metrics while identifying process improvement opportunities and operational risks. Lead the resolution of complex loan-level defects, collateral exceptions, document deficiencies, trailing document issues, collateral shortfalls, and investor stipulations. Review and interpret transaction agreements, delivery requirements, investor guides, and settlement documentation to ensure contractual compliance. Drive process automation, reporting enhancements, and operational efficiencies across loan sales and servicing transactions. Develop and maintain transaction management procedures, controls, workflow documentation, and reporting standards. Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior team members while serving as a subject matter expert for transaction settlement activities. Escalate material settlement, operational, financial, or counterparty risks to senior leadership with recommended solutions. Support strategic initiatives, acquisitions, servicing portfolio transactions, and other capital markets projects as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS (To perform the job successfully, the candidate should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this job.) 5–8+ years of mortgage banking experience with significant exposure to capital markets, investor delivery, post-closing, loan trading, servicing transfers, or transaction management. Extensive knowledge of whole loan sales, agency and non-agency execution, servicing-released transactions, and mortgage servicing rights (MSR) transactions. Advanced understanding of loan settlement processes, investor requirements, custodial procedures, collateral management, and funding mechanics. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex financial and operational issues. Proven ability to reconcile large datasets, purchase advices, trade settlements, and investor reporting. Exceptional organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-priority transactions simultaneously. Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to exercise sound judgment and make informed decisions in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to lead initiatives and drive accountability across cross-functional teams. High degree of professionalism, integrity, discretion, and attention to detail. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office with a heavy influence with Excel, including data validation, reconciliation analysis, complex formulas, pivot tables, and reporting. Experience with PollyEx, Optimal Blue, MSP, agency delivery systems, investor portals, and custodial platforms. Knowledge of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Ginnie Mae, jumbo, non-QM, and correspondent investor requirements. Experience managing MSR sales, co-issue executions, servicing transfers, bulk transactions, and portfolio acquisitions. Demonstrated success leading operational process improvements and automation initiatives. Strong understanding of mortgage accounting concepts, wire management, and settlement controls. Ability to influence outcomes across departments without direct management authority. Experience mentoring and developing junior team members.
