Truss Design Manager

Overview:

Our client, a respected, family-oriented manufacturer of structural building components in the Waynesboro, VA, area, is seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead its growing design team. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both technical depth in truss and wall panel design and a strong ability to connect with people and rebuild trust across internal and external stakeholders.

The organization is looking for a leader who can positively influence relationships, instill confidence across the sales team and customer base, and bring a steady, engaging presence to the design function. You will be responsible for overseeing the full design process from project intake through final release, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with company standards.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with sales, production, and customers to deliver practical, cost-effective solutions while guiding and developing a team of designers. The ideal candidate will combine strong experience in structural building component design with advanced MiTek skills and a leadership style that promotes collaboration, accountability, and renewed trust within the department.
