University English EAP Teacher

We are looking for an English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Teacher to join an international academic team in China, based at a partner university in Nanchang, Jiangxi province. This postion is available from the upcoming 2026-27 academic year starting in September 2026. About the school The program is an Australian, TEQSA-accredited higher education provider focused on advancing transnational and global academic collaboration. As it evolves into a broader higher education provider and a global Transnational Education collaborative hub, its people play a critical role in academic delivery, operational management, and the implementation of global programs. Job Details In this role, the educator will contribute to the delivery of the EAP curriculum, supporting university students to develop the academic English skills required for success in international higher education pathways Deliver EAP curriculum to undergraduate students in Years 1 to 3 Support development of students' academic reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills Facilitate tutorials and student engagement activities, including English Corner sessions Assist students preparing for the institution's Direct Entry Program (DEP) Participate in co-teaching alongside local academic staff Contribute to academic research and professional development activities Collaborate with academic teams to ensure effective curriculum delivery and student outcomes Full-time role at 38 hours per week, made up of 18 to 20 hours of teaching and 18 to 20 hours of non-teaching duties including preparation, marking, student support, and team collaboration Delivered through a collaborative co-teaching model that pairs international academics with local Chinese educators, supported by Branch Managers, Course Leaders, and Academic and Learning Support staff Master's degree required, minimum requirement EAP teaching experience preferred; candidates without EAP experience but with IELTS teaching experience may be considered Recognised TESOL, TEFL, or CELTA qualification, minimum requirement Ideally a minimum of three years' teaching experience, preferably in a higher education setting Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS) Salary and Benefits Monthly salary of approximately 23,000 RMB commensurate with experience and qualifications Monthly housing allowance or accommodation provided Opportunity to work in an international higher education environment Experience teaching in China with full cultural immersion Collaborative and supportive academic teams Professional development and research opportunities The chance to make a meaningful impact on students preparing for global study pathways Contract completion bonus Visa fees reimbursement
