ROLE SUMMARY The Global Vaccines Medical Affairs Public Health and Policy Lead provide leadership on behalf the Vaccines Research and Medical Organization working in close collaboration with US Vaccines Medical, International and Global Medical team and reports to the Head of Vaccines Medical as part of Vaccines organization within R&D. Primary efforts will be assigned to Lead the interaction with Global Public Health agencies and NGOs that work in the field of vaccines and immunizations The position will focus primarily on leading the policy strategies and strategic plans for ALL vaccines (pipeline and portfolio) additional effort across franchise assets dependent on business needs. These include but are not limited to COVID-19 vaccines, Influenza vaccines, RSV Adult and Maternal, PCV20 adult and peds, Pentavalent Meningococcal, MenB, Lyme, TBE, Pneumococcal Next Generation Vaccines, GBS, and C. difficile vaccines, and any other vaccines in the pipeline or acquired in the future. Key Responsibilities: The Global Vaccines Medical Affairs Public Health & Policy Lead provides strategic leadership and subject-matter expertise across the global vaccines portfolio, shaping evidence-based public health policies, recommendations, reimbursement pathways, and implementation strategies. The role partners across Medical Affairs, Commercial, and other functions to ensure that global and U.S. policy strategies are aligned and successfully executed throughout the product lifecycle. Serve as the primary Global Vaccines Medical Affairs expert and point of accountability for public health and policy strategy across vaccine assets, including engagement with WHO, ACIP, CMS, NGOs, foundations, medical societies, and other recommending bodies. Develop and oversee global policy strategies for in-line and pipeline assets, including policy and recommendation pathways, systematic evidence reviews and GRADE assessments, reimbursement considerations, quality measures, and implementation in clinical practice. Lead the development and execution of global public health and policy plans supporting national and international vaccine recommendations, ensuring alignment with Global Vaccines Medical Plans and short- and long-term asset objectives. Ensure that U.S. medical plans supporting ACIP recommendations and implementation are aligned with global strategies, while addressing the specific evidence, policy, reimbursement, and implementation needs of the U.S. environment. Lead global cross-functional Public Health and Policy workstreams across priority vaccine areas, aligning stakeholders on policy objectives, evidence requirements, recommendation milestones, reimbursement considerations, and implementation priorities. Guide policy scenario planning and evidence-generation priorities for in-line and pipeline assets, including public health and policy input to forecasts, lifecycle planning, and Business Development assessments. Provide strategic oversight for evidence addressing health equity and social determinants of health, ensuring relevant data packages demonstrate how vaccines and antivirals may help reduce disparities and improve population health outcomes. Ensure public health and policy plans are integrated into Global Vaccines Medical Plans, with clear deliverables supporting evidence reviews, recommendations, quality measures, reimbursement, and implementation. Partner with Global Medical Strategy Leads, Commercial, Market Access, HEOR, Brand Teams, and regional and country Medical Affairs colleagues to deliver policy strategies that are evidence-based, globally aligned, locally relevant, and coordinated with broader asset priorities. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Candidate demonstrates broad leadership experience and the ability to influence without direct authority, build alignment across diverse stakeholders, provide subject-matter guidance, and lead cross-functional teams to deliver meaningful public health and policy outcomes Physicians with a dvanced degree in medicine required, board certification and an active U.S. medical license are preferred, where relevant to the role. Significant expertise in vaccines, immunization programs, and relevant disease areas, with demonstrated knowledge of global and U.S. vaccine policy, recommendation development, clinical practice guidelines, systematic evidence review, GRADE, ACIP, WHO, CMS, and quality-measure development. Strong understanding of the scientific, public health, regulatory, policy, access, and healthcare-environment factors that influence vaccine recommendations, implementation, and uptake globally. Demonstrated ability to critically evaluate and synthesize complex clinical, epidemiologic, safety, real-world, and health-economic evidence, including interpreting vaccine benefit-risk profiles and relevant comparator data. Proven strategic leadership in identifying emerging policy needs, anticipating evidence gaps and policy scenarios, and translating complex information into clear, actionable recommendations. Significant experience leading cross-functional initiatives in a global matrix environment, with the ability to set priorities, establish shared objectives, and deliver complex projects within agreed timelines and budgets. Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority, facilitate constructive discussion and decision-making, and build alignment among internal and external stakeholders with differing perspectives. Established relationships with international vaccine, immunization, public health, and policy experts, with experience engaging external scientific leaders and relevant public health or recommending bodies. Excellent written, verbal, and scientific communication skills, with the ability to present complex evidence and policy considerations clearly and concisely to scientific, policy, and senior leadership audiences. Demonstrated record of high performance, sound judgment, personal accountability, and delivery of meaningful public health, policy, scientific, or business outcomes. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Senior-level experience leading global public health or vaccine policy strategy across multiple assets, disease areas, or lifecycle stages. Direct experience engaging global and national recommending bodies, public health agencies, NGOs, policymakers, and professional societies. Demonstrated success translating clinical, epidemiologic, health economic, real-world, and implementation evidence into effective policy strategies. Experience anticipating policy scenarios, identifying evidence gaps, and defining evidence-generation priorities to support recommendations and implementation. Strong understanding of the interdependencies among vaccine recommendations, reimbursement, quality measures, access, healthcare-system implementation, and uptake. Demonstrated experience incorporating health equity, social determinants of health, and underserved-population needs into public health and policy strategies. Experience leading policy strategy across markets with differing public health systems, immunization infrastructures, funding mechanisms, and recommendation pathways. Recognized external leadership in vaccines, immunization, public health, or health policy through advisory roles, publications, guideline contributions, invited presentations, or expert forums. Publications in internationally renowned medical peer-reviewed journals would be a distinctive advantage. NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS Domestic and international travel 10-25%  time for internal meetings, congresses, stakeholder engagement meetings. The annual base salary for this position ranges from $254,100.00 to $423,500.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 25.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
