You will practice within an established multidisciplinary program based in the Heart Hospital while serving multiple DMC campuses. This opportunity offers a balanced mix of surgery, clinic, inpatient care, and teaching responsibilities alongside fellows and residents. Position Highlights Employed vascular surgery opportunity with Detroit Medical Group (DMC Heart & Vascular) Primary practice location in the Heart Hospital cardiovascular clinic on the DMC campus Existing, established practice serving multiple DMC facilities Approximately 40 hours per week of patient care, including clinic and OR time Daily hospital rounds with a typical schedule of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Clinic at Sinai-Grace Hospital at least one day per week Clinic at the Heart Hospital one day per week Shared call schedule currently 1:3 among vascular surgeons Call responsibilities include consults, surgeries, and inpatient rounding Additional call compensation provided by the hospital Clinic volume of approximately 10 to 20 patients per day, depending on referrals and postoperative follow-up Opportunity to teach and supervise fellows and residents Current team includes 2.5 vascular surgeons providing coverage across three campuses Additional opportunity for candidates with pediatric vascular interest or training What We Offer Employed position within a large integrated academic health system Established referral network and market-wide vascular surgery coverage Dedicated fellow support and APP support for dialysis access services Teaching opportunities with fellows and residents Hospital-compensated call coverage Practice based within the Heart Hospital cardiovascular program Malpractice insurance provided Health, dental, and life insurance 401(k) with employer matching Deferred compensation program Relocation assistance Candidate Requirements Board Certified Active Michigan medical license, or willingness to obtain Why Detroit Detroit offers the energy of a major metropolitan area combined with an affordable cost of living and a strong sense of community.
