Vice President, Direct Lending

Roles & Responsibilities

This is a unique opportunity to join a newly set up highly strategic credit investing team that is part of a global asset management firm with over $500 billion in AUM. The role offers a holistic experience across all facets of private credit investing, with close collaboration alongside a private credit team based in Japan that is a recognized leader in the Direct Lending market. Strong performers will have a clear path to a long-term career track.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth research and financial analysis on private equity-backed companies across sectors, including senior loan and mezzanine investment opportunities
• Support underwriting and diligence workstreams — including target review, due diligence preparation, screening memos, and formal investment committee presentations
• Review and negotiate term sheets, commitment letters, and credit agreements
• Monitor existing investments and deliver timely updates to the investment committee through written and verbal communication
• Prepare materials for investors, auditors, and other key stakeholders
• Engage with global private equity sponsor teams to build relationships and source investment opportunities
• Liaise with regional investors for information exchange and marketing initiatives
• Manage end-to-end investment processes and fund operations
• Serve as a key liaison with the Japan-based private credit team, requiring fluency in both Japanese and English to facilitate seamless communication across teams and stakeholders
