Vice President, Model Validation & Climate Insights

A global reinsurance organisation is looking to hire a Vice President, Model Validation & Climate Insights to join its team in Singapore. This is a key opportunity for an experienced catastrophe risk or climate professional to take ownership of independent model challenge and validation, while helping to shape how the business understands and manages catastrophe risk. The successful candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation, turning complex modelling and scientific issues into insight that supports important commercial and strategic decisions.

We are looking for someone with significant experience in catastrophe modelling, model validation, climate risk or a closely related field. You will ideally hold a Master’s degree or PhD in Meteorology, Climate Science, Geophysics, or another relevant quantitative discipline. Strong knowledge of natural catastrophe risk is essential, with particular interest in candidates who have specialist expertise in Earthquake or Tropical Cyclone. You should also be comfortable working with data and analytical tools, with experience using programming languages such as Python, R, SQL or MATLAB, and be able to understand the implications of model changes, scientific developments and climate trends on a global reinsurance portfolio.

The ideal candidate will combine technical depth with sound commercial judgement and strong communication skills. You will be comfortable questioning established thinking, engaging with senior stakeholders and presenting complex findings in a clear and practical way.
