About the role We are recruiting for a Workday Integration Architecture & Technical Development Lead to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of enterprise systems here at the Francis Crick institute. This is a rare opportunity for an experienced Workday technical leader to own the architecture, strategy and delivery of a complex integration landscape spanning People, Finance and connected enterprise systems. Combining hands on expertise with architectural oversight and technical leadership, you will define the future direction of Workday integrations, drive innovation, reduce technical debt and establish scalable, reusable solutions that support organisational growth. Working at enterprise scale, you will lead the design and evolution of integrations across Workday Studio, Core Connectors, EIBs, APIs, Workday Web Services and emerging orchestration technologies, ensuring our platforms remain secure, reliable, well-governed and ready for the future. This is far more than a development role, it is a strategic architecture and leadership position for someone who wants to influence technology direction, deliver meaningful transformation and make a lasting impact within a highly collaborative, research driven environment. What you will be doing You will: Define, maintain and evolve the Workday technical and integrations roadmap, aligned to organisational priorities, IT strategy, security expectations and Finance transformation objectives. Lead architecture-level discovery and design for integrations transformation Provide technical direction for Workday developers and technical specialists, setting priorities, standards and quality controls across BAU and project work. Mentor developers in integrations, reporting, calculated fields, configuration, testing, release management, troubleshooting and documentation. Create and maintain solution designs, integration inventories, data-flow records, runbooks, support guides, decision records and service transition documentation. Provide senior technical support for Finance-related Workday BAU Support change across Finance including related data, reconciliation, controls and integration dependencies. Please see full job description here About you You will have: Substantial experience implementing, maintaining or improving Workday, or a comparable Finance ERP, in an enterprise environment.* Strong Workday integrations knowledge, including EIBs, Core Connectors, Workday Web Services, APIs, data flows, integration monitoring and operational support.* Demonstrable architecture capability, with the ability to turn business requirements into system, process, application, integration and data-flow designs that address both functional and non-functional requirements. Experience leading or directing technical teams, including prioritisation, technical review, mentoring, testing discipline, release control and documentation quality.* Strong understanding of transactional data flows, data migration, reconciliation, validation and data quality controls. Experience supporting Finance BAU and change, with awareness of finance processes, controls and audit needs.* Strong problem-solving skills, including investigation of complex defects, integration failures, reporting issues and data discrepancies.
