The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Full-Time Work/Life Consultant, GS-0101-11, to work under the 8th Fighter Wing, Kunsan AB, Korea. The primary purpose of this position is To plan, implement, administer, and counsel units and their leadership on individual, family, and community issues including but not limited to career assistance, transition, relocation, family, and other work/life service and activities provided to military members, retirees, Department of Defense (DoD) civilian members, and their families. Annual Salary Range is $63,795 - $82,938 based on experience. (Not including overtime, holiday pay, annual or within-grade pay increases) In addition to moving expenses being covered, this opportunity is also eligible for a tax free allowance to cover housing and utilities expenses. If selected and currently being a CONUS stationed employee, you will also receive return rights for up to five years ensuring you have a position to return to after the completion of this tour. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: -Assesses needs and provides continuing work/life services to leadership, organizations, and serviced populations within assigned units and in the M&FRC. Develops and uses self-assessment, community­assessment, and various measurement tools to identify trends, organizational needs, and Air Force and unit demographic profiles. -Develops, implements, and manages installation work/life services programs, establishing goals, objectives, and procedures in accordance with applicable state and DoD, Air Force and other federal guidance, regulations, and laws. Establishes, implements, assigns, and manages work/life services delivery procedures that comply with regulatory requirements and meet community needs. Develops plans that meet both long- and short­range goals. -Consults with on- and off-site community leadership officials on work/life and related issues. Influences key organizational staff and organized groups within/outside the installation. Identifies, advises, and consults with leaders on positive sustainable efforts that foster an environment of trust and responsiveness to various organizational work/life issues. -Designs and establishes marketing and public relations strategies to ensure target populations are informed of services and activities. Researches, writes articles, and prepares and delivers presentations on services and activities. Partnering with members of the IDS, researches, organizes, designs, procures, and disseminates community resource information. -Applies qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques that frequently require modification to fit a wide range of variables. Refines existing work methods and techniques for application to the analysis of specific issues or resolution of problems. As required, develops new guidelines outlining procedures that can provide information concerning program inadequacies. Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with installation leadership and external agencies that operate under the umbrella of casualty services. RECRUITMENT KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA): -Knowledge of social services delivery systems as well as a wide range of concepts, principles, theories, and practices relating to one or more of the social or behavioral science fields. -Skill in conducting interviews to establish the nature and extent of concerns/issues, provide assistance in developing goals and plans, and determine appropriate referral services/options when frequently there is difficulty in determining clients' needs or wants or in convincing them to accept that problems exist. -Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships using tact and diplomacy in interactions with individuals/families, leadership of organizations, and with program representatives and officials. -Ability to assess and measure organizations' trends, concerns, and needs; assist in identifying and prioritizing goals; and provide guidance and direction for the development and implementation of effective plans and tools to address such issues.
