#126605 - Software Engineer, Backend & Test Automation

We are seeking a hands-on Software Engineer with strong backend development and test automation experience. The initial focus of this engagement will be building and maintaining automated tests using TypeScript and Playwright, with opportunities to contribute more broadly to production backend services using Java or Kotlin. The ideal candidate combines software engineering fundamentals with strong quality engineering expertise and is comfortable contributing to both production code and automated test infrastructure. Enterprise experience strongly preferred. Key Responsibilities * Build and maintain automated test frameworks using TypeScript and Playwright. * Develop functional, integration, and API automated tests. * Write clear, comprehensive, and maintainable test cases. * Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and automated execution workflows. * Investigate test failures, application defects, and production issues. * Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis. * Develop and maintain backend services using Java or Kotlin. * Contribute independently to production application code. * Collaborate with engineering teams through established development, review, and delivery workflows. * Help improve the reliability, maintainability, and overall quality of backend services. Must-Have Skills * Strong professional backend engineering experience. * Strong test engineering and automation experience. * Hands-on experience developing backend services using Java or Kotlin. * Advanced TypeScript skills. * Hands-on Playwright experience. * Experience creating and maintaining Playwright test frameworks. * Experience writing functional, integration, and API tests. * Ability to write clear, comprehensive, and maintainable test cases. * Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills. * Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution. * Ability to contribute independently to production code, not only test code. * Ability to work effectively with limited oversight.
