About Our Credit Analyst Program

Build your foundation for a career in credit and commercial banking. During Associated Bank’s five-month Credit Analyst Program, you’ll combine hands-on experience with dedicated training, projects and opportunities to learn from experienced colleagues across the organization. You’ll build connections with peers, mentors and banking professionals while gaining exposure to how we evaluate credit, support clients and develop financial solutions. Throughout the program, you’ll put what you’re learning into practice and build the knowledge, confidence and experience to create a strong foundation for your career at Associated Bank.


Join Associated Bank as a 2027 Credit Analyst Trainee - Commercial Real Estate (CRE), where you’ll serve as an analytical support resource across the Commercial Real Estate team, assisting with annual reviews, cash flow analysis, credit presentations, financial analysis, and portfolio management projects. You’ll collaborate closely with Relationship Managers, Portfolio Managers, mentors, and leaders across multiple CRE markets while supporting business needs as priorities shift throughout the year. Participants gain the skills and experience needed to pursue future opportunities within portfolio management, commercial banking, credit, and other commercial banking functions.


This role is located in Milwaukee, WI, Green Bay, WI, or Madison, WI and is hybrid. The Credit Analyst Program begins on May 24, 2027.


Key Accountabilities

  • Learn and understand Associated's credit approach and underwriting process, as well as spread and analyze financial data.
  • Begin to conduct the analysis and underwriting of existing and new credit transactions, in preparation to monitor and manage a loan portfolio.
  • Learn and understand Associated's lending cycle and the wide range of banking products we provide to our customers and prospective customers.
  • Prepare to help companies analyze their capital structure and financial needs in order to help develop and recommend financial solutions.
  • Understand Associated's value proposition and the benefit of relationship banking.

Education & Experience

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field

Preferred

  • Successful internship experience with other banks or financial institutions
  • Demonstrated customer service and relationship-building skills
  • Experience with or exposure to financial and credit analysis concepts
  • Financial analysis and cash flow analysis experience
  • Credit analysis skills
  • Strong analytical thinking
