The Enterprise Operations Development Program provides recent college graduates with hands-on experience, professional development, and opportunities to build analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and collaboration skills within M&T Bank.

As a Property Preservation Analyst, you'll gain experience supporting the residential properties that secure mortgage and home equity loans. You'll learn how M&T monitors and manages property-related activity, partners with vendors, responds to property issues, analyzes reporting, and navigates regulatory and investor requirements.

Through exposure to different areas of Property Preservation, you'll develop a well-rounded understanding of mortgage servicing operations while strengthening skills in analysis, decision-making, vendor management, risk, reporting, and problem-solving.

Department Overview

The Property Preservation team helps protect and maintain residential properties that secure mortgage and home equity loans when customers become past due or properties become vacant.

The team works with national vendors to monitor properties and identify situations that may require additional attention. Depending on the property, this can include coordinating property inspections, securing vacant properties, reviewing repair needs, monitoring insurance claims, addressing code violations, and supporting other property-related requirements.

Property Preservation includes several specialized areas, including Presale, Escalations, FHA Property Preservation, and Reporting (PROPS). Together, these teams help manage properties throughout different stages of the servicing process while following applicable investor guidelines and federal, state, and local requirements.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Complete a series of job rotations, over a set time frame in multiple disciplines, to gain a broader understanding of the roles, how they are utilized at the Bank, and how they work together to deliver solutions and services to internal and external customers
• Manage pipeline of loans ensuring operational processes are completed timely and accurately
• Perform reviews of loans confirming a quality level within the Company’s risk appetite
• Work in customer contact or back-office roles depending upon the preference and skill set of the candidate
• Develop and produce routine departmental reports and spreadsheets, including but not limited to, project analyses, historical reporting and financial analyses.
• Complete data review, research and/or reconciliation.
• Participate in Customer Asset Management Operations Development Program activities.
• Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
• Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
• Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
• Minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.0
• Up to 1 years' work experience
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated analytical skills
• Demonstrated computer skills
• Prior work/internship experience
• Work Visa Sponsorship not offered for this role

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $29.57 - $43.99 per hour. The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation. The range listed above encompasses all geographic locations. The pay rate specific to your location will fall within this range and is available from your recruiter.
