2027 Legislative Session Internship – State Treasurer
FT / PT Status – Full-Time
Benefits Eligibility – This position is not eligible for benefits.
Salary – $15.50 - $ Hourly Wage
Remote Work / In-Office – In-Office / On-Site Start/End Date: January 6 - March 19, 2027 (start and end dates are flexible)

Key Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Policy and Communications Deputy, the legislative intern will:
• Track legislation relevant to the Treasurer’s Office;
• Attend legislative committee meetings, hearings, and floor sessions;
• Prepare notes and summaries;
• Coordinate meetings with legislators;
• Conduct research and draft briefing materials on public finance, financial education, investments,
office history, and related policy issues;
• Support financial education initiatives;
• Attend board and commission meetings;
• Support logistical and administrative needs of the office during the legislative session; and
• Perform other duties as assigned to advance the mission of the office.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this position is someone who:
• Is currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college/university program in public policy,
economics, political science, business, finance, communications, or a related field;
• Has strong writing and analytical skills;
• Is highly organized with exceptional attention to detail;
• Is self-motivated and able to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment;
• Communicates clearly, concisely, and professionally, both verbally and in writing; and
• Demonstrates professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information.
Minimum Qualifications
• Enrollment in or completion of an undergraduate or graduate program.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite.
• Ability to work full-time during the Legislative Session (January–March).
Supplemental Information
• This is a temporary, non-benefited position.
• Work will be performed primarily at the State Capitol.
• Professional attire is expected.
