Role Description The 3D Generalist (Volunteer) role at Gray3d is a full-time remote position contributing to the visual development of game projects. Day-to-day tasks include creating and refining 3D assets in Blender, such as environments, props, and characters, and preparing them for integration into game engines. The role involves rigging characters and objects for animation, applying textures and materials, and setting up lighting to achieve the desired mood and visual style. The 3D Generalist collaborates with other artists and developers, participates in regular feedback sessions, and helps maintain a consistent art direction across the project. This position is volunteer-based and suited for individuals looking to grow their portfolio, gain practical experience, and be part of an active game development community.
Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Blender for modeling and asset creation.
  • Rigging skills for characters and props intended for animation.
  • Experience with texturing, materials, and UV mapping for game-ready assets.

  • Basic to intermediate animation skills for character and object movement.
  • Understanding of game art workflows and asset optimization for real-time engines.

  • Portfolio or examples of 3D work demonstrating relevant skills.
