There is so much more Compass can do, and it needs your experience building modern cloud services to evolve and create products that improve every step of the real estate agents’ experience from the first contact with a client to the close of a deal. You will have the opportunity to work across the entire real estate journey, working with technology that aggregates millions to billions of interactions, listings, transactions, and other data.

We are seeking a motivated frontend engineer to join our team. As a Frontend engineer in the Transaction Journey organization, you will work on building a collaborative transaction management platform to streamline the process of buying and selling homes. You will build tools that make it easy for agents to work with clients and other parties to complete critical tasks throughout the transaction, so that they can spend less time managing it, and more time with their clients, and building their business. You will collaborate cross-functionally with multiple teams as well as with our product and design teams to identify the deliver the right solutions for our customers.

What you will do:

• Work in a startup-like environment building agile products and services
• Build and maintain features on a high-quality frontend codebase
• Independently deliver on complex tasks
• Perform code reviews, design reviews, and write high quality tests
• Create clear and concise documentation (diagrams, service descriptions, decisions, runbooks)
• Own and operationally improve services and applications in your domain throughout their lifecycle
• Work closely with designers to translate rough sketches to fully functional, responsive web components.

What we look for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical experience
• 5+ years of software engineering experience with Typescript, Javascript, and HTML/CSS
• 5+ years of experience with React
• Experience developing large-scale, user-facing web applications
• Experience collaborating with Product, Design, and Engineering teams on projects
• Experience with user experience (UX) and web design principles
• Experience with Node.js is a plus
• Experience with languages such as Java, Goland, and Python is a plus
• Experience with design tools such as Sketch, Figma, or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
• Practical experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies
• Strong critical thinking skills, great communication skills and passion for delivering operational excellence.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Professional proficiency in English
