About the Role
As a Database Administrator, you will develop, test, deploy, and iteratively improve database capabilities, features and APIs.
What You’ll Do
Collaborate with software engineers, designers, product managers, end-users and other database team engineers
Leverage critical thinking, experimentation, data, end-user feedback, and industry best practices to achieve desired business outcomes
Develop and integrate high-quality database products that are secure, simple to use, easy to operate and fully integrated
Manage all technical aspects related to the database product lifecycle, including code, infrastructure, data, security, CICD and documentation
Contribute to database engineering and software development standards
Enhance and simplify the database user experience for development teams
Implement software engineering practices using tools that are both cloud-based and on-premises
Oversee all technical aspects of the database product lifecycle, including code, infrastructure, data, security, CICD and documentation
Create high-quality, secure, easy-to-use database products that enhance the development team's user experience

What Skills You Have
Required
Passion for turning complex distributed systems into highly available, fully integrated and easy-to-use products
Experience in development, infrastructure systems, infrastructure operations and infrastructure security
Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies or techniques quickly
Open-minded approach to problem-solving centered around the needs of the customer
Strong team player with a focus on contributing to team success
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in MIS, Computer Science or related field
Experience with object-oriented development using GitLab, Powershell, Python, Shell or Go
2+ years of experience in software or infrastructure platform development.
Knowledge of application design patterns, event-driven architecture and testing strategies
Experience with continuous integration, continuous deployment and test-driven development
Experience working with major cloud platforms (GCP and/or AWS)
Background working with infrastructure as code and GitOps methodologies
Experience deploying, configuring, migrating, and supporting common stateful distributed systems, messaging, or database technologies such as Oracle, MSSQL, and MySQL.
Preferred
Experience with CloudSQL, MySQL, MongoDB and Redis
