ABOUT US:

Gisou is born out of a passion for bees and haircare, based on a six-generation beekeeping heritage, our products are inspired by and made with the finest, sustainably sourced ingredients from our very own Mirsalehi Bee Garden.

At Gisou we are on a mission to share our HONEY GLOW. As a rapidly growing scale-up, we're dedicated to crafting iconic beauty products, and building a world-class team to drive our vision and brand forward. We are talent obsessed and deeply believe that the raw skills of our people, and their collective brilliance is what makes us truly extraordinary!

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As an Accessories Designer, you will contribute to seasonal and long-standing accessories and merch collections, developing pieces that are trend-aware, brand-cohesive, and commercially relevant. You are a key executional partner to the team, responsible for the craft that turns concepts into accurate, buildable products — defining construction, hardware specifications, fit, tolerance and materials, and taking full ownership of prototype and construction reviews. Reporting to the Creative Lead, you collaborate closely with Merchandising, Brand Marketing and Product Development to maintain seasonal timelines, meet margin goals and safeguard Gisou's quality standards and brand identity across all accessory categories.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Lead technical development across a diverse range of soft and hard accessories — including bags, hair accessories, sweaters and scarves — translating creative concepts into precise, production-ready technical specification packages and 3D CAD models.

  • Define construction, hardware specifications, fit, tolerance and materials for every accessory, and take full ownership of prototype and construction reviews.

  • Conduct material and benchmark research, trend forecasting and consumer behaviour research to drive continuous improvement with trend-aware, forward-thinking solutions.

  • Safeguard Gisou's quality standards and brand identity across all accessory categories, collaborating with Merchandising, Brand Marketing and Product Development to meet seasonal timelines and margin goals.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • Deep working knowledge of accessories design and development across both soft goods (bags, hair accessories, knitwear, scarves) and hard goods (hardware, trims), including materials, construction methods, tolerances and industry benchmarks — typically built over 3-4 years in a similar role within fashion or beauty.

  • Works closely with the Creative Lead and cross-functional partners in Merchandising, Brand Marketing and Product Development, translating creative direction into technical requirements and communicating construction, fit and feasibility trade-offs clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Resolves technical construction and materials challenges by bridging soft-goods technical design with hard-goods industrial engineering — balancing function, ergonomics, aesthetic intent and durability — and exercising judgment on when to flag feasibility, quality or cost risks.

  • Plans and sequences technical development across multiple accessory categories and seasonal collections in parallel, working to timelines set jointly with Merchandising and Product Development.

  • Hands-on evaluation of materials, hardware and construction quality — touch, fit and finish — to ensure prototypes meet Gisou's tactile and aesthetic standards.

  • Applies strong design judgment to translate seasonal creative concepts into buildable, brand-cohesive products; graphic design and packaging design experience is a plus. Digital skills:

  • Proficiency in 3D CAD modelling (e.g. Rhino) to build accurate models, photorealistic renders and technical turnarounds for hard accessories, bag hardware and trims; Figma and Adobe Creative Suite experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical guidance and quality expectations to external suppliers and manufacturers during development and production.

  • Responsible for the accuracy, condition and safekeeping of prototypes, samples and materials throughout the development and construction review process.

  • Handles seasonal collection concepts, technical specifications and supplier or costing information that is commercially sensitive ahead of launch.

  • No formal budget ownership; decisions on materials, hardware and construction directly influence margin goals, in partnership with Merchandising.

  • Safeguards Gisou's quality standards and brand identity across every accessory category — the accuracy and craft of this role's output directly shapes how the brand is experienced through product.

  • Considers material sourcing, durability and supplier practices as part of benchmark research and construction decisions, in line with Gisou's sustainability commitments.

  • Sustained attention to technical detail across multiple concurrent seasonal developments, translating creative concepts and ambiguous direction into precise, buildable specifications.

  • Manages cross-functional expectations under seasonal deadline pressure, balancing creative ambition against margin, quality and production constraints.

  • Hands-on handling of prototypes, samples and materials during construction and quality reviews; may require travel to suppliers or manufacturers.

WHAT WE OFFER:

  • 1 day of remote working per week.

  • Subsidised fresh daily lunch via our partner Feedr, plus drinks and snacks provided in the office.

  • Regular team activities and drinks.

  • Contribution towards ClassPass membership.

  • Mental health support via OpenUp.

  • Ability to lease a bike with a small employer contribution.

  • Every year, you’ll receive a personal employee gift card.

At Gisou, you’ll be part of an ambitious, fast-growing beauty company with an international, dynamic, and collaborative atmosphere. You’ll join a team of creative powerhouses and bold thinkers who bring out the best in each other and work together to build something iconic.

Growth here isn’t a side benefit it’s part of the journey. As our business continues to evolve globally, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to stretch your skills, push your boundaries, and shape the future of beauty with us.
