For over three decades Risk Management Partners (RMP) has helped public sector and education organisations across the UK, creating fantastic long-term partnerships whilst building an enviable reputation.

As their risk landscape evolves, we work out the implications and help to equip them with the right risk management tools.
RMP are looking for an Account Director within their Scotland, Northern Ireland and Northern England Team.
Your main responsibility will be to develop and maintain strong client and intermediary relationships, resulting in the retention and growth of our existing portfolio of clients. You will have a portfolio of existing and prospective clients including Local Authorities, Police Authorities, Fire Authorities and Higher Education Institutions with responsibility for managing the renewal process and responding to tenders.
How you'll make an impact
- Ensure that the needs of the client come first by working with empathy and integrity to understand and meet their needs.
- Proactively collaborate with underwriters, account handlers, the claims team and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct business in an appropriate manner, adhering to the Standard Operating Procedure and all relevant policies and procedures.
- Actively engage in national and regional events, including ALARM, Legal Panel updates and Insurance Officers Group meetings, taking the opportunities to network with brokers, clients, and suppliers.
- Regional Business Plan - Support the implementation of the Regional Business Plan as required.
- Maintain and develop relationships with key brokers, clients, and lost clients/prospects through regular meetings (face to face wherever possible) and involvement of relevant stakeholders.
- Attend workshops, conferences, events, and training to stay updated on regulatory requirements and support your professional development.
- Manage the renewal/tender process including the completion of renewal reports and/or tender evaluation documents engaging with both legal and compliance to ensure a compliant bid.
About you
- Self-Motivated with a real passion for personal development and learning. Expectancy to have or be working towards CII/ACII qualifications, continually building your industry knowledge and seeking development.
- Have a strong working knowledge of general insurance products, services, classes of insurance.
- Have excellent attention to detail and the ability to extract pertinent information from tender/renewal proposal documents, spreadsheets and word documents.
- Excellent client service focus and a desire to deliver outstanding client outcomes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Have strong or be willing to work on your presentation skills.
- Strong understanding of the commercial marketplace, preferably in insurance and public sector.
Location:
- Home-based, ideally located in the North / North East of England.
