Account Executive
Chief Executive GroupCFO Leadership, a division of Chief Executive Group, is seeking an ambitious and self-motivated Senior Sales Executive to join our high-performing sales team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for driving revenue across CFO Leadership’s full portfolio of offerings, including conferences, FATE, webinars, digital media, research, thought leadership, and custom partnership opportunities.
You’ll manage both new business and existing account growth, with a focus on identifying, engaging, and closing companies that sell into CFOs and senior finance leaders. This role is ideal for a strong hunter who can also build long-term relationships, grow accounts, and identify opportunities across multiple products.
The position is a fully remote with occasional travel to industry events and CFO Leadership programs. This role reports to the VP of Sales/Publisher. Candidates located in Eastern or Central time zones are preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sell sponsorship, media, event, research, and thought leadership opportunities across the CFO Leadership portfolio, with a focus on both new business and account growth
- Build and maintain a high-activity pipeline through consistent prospecting (phone, email, LinkedIn, referrals, and networking)
- Identify and target technology vendors, service providers, consulting firms, and B2B organizations that sell into CFOs and finance leaders
- Run a full sales cycle—from outreach and discovery to pricing, contracting, and close—across short to mid-length sales timelines
- Manage and grow existing accounts through renewals, upsells, cross-sells, and broader partnership opportunities
- Hit weekly activity and pipeline targets and deliver against monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals
- Clearly communicate value and ROI using audience insights, demographics, engagement metrics, and past partner outcomes
- Maintain accurate CRM records, manage pipeline stages, and forecast performance with consistency and discipline
- Attend CFO Leadership events and select industry events to develop leads, set meetings, strengthen relationships, and close business as needed
- Identify opportunities to upsell into larger sponsorships, branded activations, research, digital, thought leadership, or custom programs when there’s a clear fit
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of B2B sales experience, ideally in event, sponsorship, media, conference, research, membership, or integrated marketing sales
- Demonstrated ability to prospect hard, open doors, grow relationships, and close in a quota-driven environment
- Experience selling sponsorships, media, event packages, or similar B2B offerings is strongly preferred
- Proven success managing both new business and existing account growth
- Comfortable with high-volume outbound; strong phone presence, confident cold calling, and persistent follow-up
- Strong objection handling, negotiation, and closing skills
- Organized and process-driven; able to manage a pipeline and execute daily activity without heavy oversight
- Experience with CRM tools and LinkedIn Sales Navigator or similar prospecting tools
- Willingness to travel to CFO Leadership events and select industry events approximately 5–8 times per year
