Territory: North of the UK & Scotland
Employment Type: Full-time
Travel: Regular UK travel required

Company Overview

RB Global is a leading omnichannel marketplace providing value-added insights, services and transaction solutions for buyers and sellers of commercial assets and vehicles worldwide. Through its auction sites and digital platforms, RB Global serves customers across a broad range of asset classes, including construction, lifting and material handling, transportation, agriculture, energy and mining.

Rouse, part of RB Global’s services division, helps equipment businesses improve commercial and asset decisions through market intelligence, technology and data-backed sales tools. Its solutions support equipment owners, manufacturers, dealers, traders, rental companies and finance providers throughout the equipment lifecycle.

The Rouse Fleet Manager Proposition

Rouse Fleet Manager helps construction equipment businesses manage, market and sell used equipment more effectively. The proposition combines:

  • Rental Insights - Rate and utilisation benchmarking that helps equipment rental companies understand market performance.
  • Fleet Manager – A central platform for organising and managing equipment available for sale, improving visibility and control across the sales process.
  • Equipment Insights – Independent, market-backed intelligence covering used equipment values, residual values, value trends, marketable life and global auction results.
  • Branded Webshops – Customer-facing digital storefronts that enable businesses to professionally present and promote their available equipment online.

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Account Executive to lead new business growth for Rouse Fleet Manager in the UK. The role will focus on developing relationships and winning business across construction equipment OEMs, dealers, traders and equipment finance companies.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years’ experience in at least one of these sectors and a well-rounded understanding of construction equipment sales. They will understand how equipment is valued, financed, acquired, marketed and sold through retail, wholesale, trade and auction channels, and will be able to translate this knowledge into compelling business cases for Rouse Fleet Manager, Equipment Insights and Webshops.

This is a consultative new-business role requiring strong industry credibility, disciplined pipeline management and the ability to engage senior commercial, used equipment, asset management, finance and digital stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the regional territory - Develop and execute a structured sales plan for the North of England and Scotland, prioritising the most relevant rental companies, OEMs, dealers, traders, finance businesses and fleet owners.
  • Identify and create new business opportunities – Research target accounts, map relevant decision-makers and generate a consistent pipeline through direct outreach, referrals, events, industry relationships and collaboration across RB Global.
  • Manage the full sales cycle – Own opportunities from prospecting and qualification through discovery, demonstration, business case development, proposal, negotiation and close.
  • Deliver consultative discovery – Understand each prospect’s equipment sales model, inventory challenges, valuation processes, digital sales strategy and commercial objectives before recommending the appropriate Rouse solution.
  • Present and demonstrate the platform – Deliver credible, tailored demonstrations of Fleet Manager, Equipment Insights and Webshops to operational users, commercial leaders and senior decision-makers.
  • Build value-led commercial cases – Show how Rouse can improve visibility of used equipment, strengthen valuation and residual value decisions, support stock turn, expand digital reach and improve equipment sales outcomes.
  • Develop senior industry relationships – Build trusted relationships with used equipment directors, dealer principals, sales leaders, asset managers, finance teams, remarketing teams and executive stakeholders.
  • Coordinate internal resources – Work closely with Rouse product, data, customer success, implementation and marketing teams to ensure opportunities are accurately scoped and customers are set up for successful adoption.
  • Maintain accurate sales reporting – Keep Salesforce and other sales systems up to date, including activity, opportunity stages, next steps, revenue forecasts and account plans.
  • Achieve commercial targets – Meet or exceed agreed activity, pipeline, new customer and annual recurring revenue targets.
  • Represent Rouse in the market – Attend customer meetings, trade shows, conferences and industry events across the UK, acting as a credible ambassador for Rouse and RB Global.
  • Provide market feedback – Share customer requirements, competitor intelligence and market trends to support product development, marketing strategy and go-to-market execution.

Requirements and Qualifications

Industry Experience

  • Minimum five years’ relevant industry experience - Must have worked within construction equipment, plant or equipment rental, an OEM, dealer/distributor, machinery trader, equipment finance business, auction/remarketing company or another closely related equipment sector.
  • Construction equipment market knowledge - A well-rounded understanding of the construction equipment industry and the commercial lifecycle of equipment, from acquisition and rental or ownership through to valuation, replacement, remarketing and disposal.
  • Relevant sales track record - Demonstrable success in B2B sales, business development or commercial account management, including winning new customers and developing a territory or account base.
  • Commercial credibility - The ability to hold informed conversations with experienced equipment professionals and understand the commercial drivers behind rental, equipment ownership, new and used machinery sales and asset finance.
  • Regional market presence - Based in the North of England, with the ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout the North of England and Scotland

Sales and Commercial Skills

  • Consultative selling – Strong discovery skills and the ability to convert operational or commercial challenges into a clear, quantified value proposition.
  • Full-cycle sales management – Experience creating opportunities and progressing them through multi-stakeholder sales processes to contract signature.
  • Executive communication – Confident presenting to and influencing senior decision-makers, both in person and virtually.
  • Negotiation and closing – Strong commercial judgement with the ability to manage pricing discussions, objections, procurement and contract negotiations.
  • Product demonstration – Able to explain software, data and digital commerce tools clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • CRM discipline – Experience using Salesforce or a comparable CRM to manage pipeline, activity and forecasting accurately.
  • New business development - Proven ability to prospect, open new accounts and build a pipeline rather than relying solely on inbound opportunities.

Personal Attributes

  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the discipline to build a market and create new opportunities rather than rely solely on inbound leads.
  • Commercially curious and able to quickly understand different equipment sales models and customer priorities.
  • Credible, professional and relationship-led, with a practical understanding of how the construction equipment industry operates.
  • Highly organised, with strong prioritisation, follow-up and territory-management skills.
  • Collaborative and comfortable working within an international, cross-functional team.
  • Willing and able to travel regularly throughout the UK, with occasional international travel where required.

Desirable Experience

  • An established network within UK construction equipment OEMs, dealers, traders or finance companies.
  • Experience selling software, digital marketplaces, webshops, data products, valuation services or equipment remarketing solutions.
  • Knowledge of used equipment values, residual value setting, asset disposal, inventory management or online equipment sales.
  • Experience working across international construction equipment markets or with global manufacturers and dealer groups.

What We Offer

  • A key role in growing an established global equipment technology and market intelligence business in the UK.
  • Competitive base salary and performance-based commission or bonus.
  • Company car or car allowance.
  • Pension and wider benefits package in line with RB Global policy.
  • Professional development and career progression within Rouse and the wider RB Global organisation.
  • A collaborative working environment with access to experienced equipment, data, product and marketplace specialists.
