Account Executive (SME) – Tax Nuggets Academy | $90K–110K Base + Uncapped Commission ($140K–160K OTE) | Fully Remote (Australia)
The best sales roles have three things: a product people need, a reputation that opens doors, and leads that come to you.
This one has all three, plus a second product to sell.
Tax Nuggets Academy is the Netflix for tax training, an established platform with a strong reputation among Australian accountants. Now it's adding Ask Nugget, an AI tax research tool built from the ground up on Australian tax law. Not a chatbot that sounds confident, and not an LLM wrapper that quietly makes things up.
The business is in hyper-growth, the pipeline is stacked, and the sales team is still small. Get in early, and you'll grow into mid-market as the business scales.
The Account Executive seat focuses on winning new firms and growing existing accounts through upsells, cross-sells, or both. From the first conversation to the signed agreement, and every renewal and expansion after it, you'll own the commercial relationship (and the commission attributed to it).
Why this role
- $90K–110K base + uncapped commission (140K–160K OTE) on new business, upsells, cross-sells, and renewals.
- A stacked inbound pipeline from day one. Outbound comes later.
- A clear path into mid-market. Your career grows as the business grows.
- Join a fast-scaling company making noise in the accounting space.
- Fully remote, anywhere in Australia.
What you'll actually do
- Run the full sales cycle across both products: discovery, trial, proposal, close. You close every deal you open.
- Work the pipeline you’re handed: inbound trial signups, demo requests, marketing leads, lapsed trials and churned firms. Speed to first contact matters. Outbound comes later, once you're ramped.
- Run discovery calls that uncover how a firm trains its team, how its accountants research technical questions, and where that costs them time, money, or risk.
- Set firms up on trial and get their team using the platform, so the closing conversation is about what they've already seen, not what you've promised.
- Build proposals that map our learning pathways and Ask Nugget to the firm's team and the problems they've told you about. Run the closing conversation (pricing, objections, terms), then take them through contracting, billing, and first payment.
- Sell both products, and know which one solves which problem. Some firms need training, some need research, most need both. Your job is to know the difference.
- Stay the commercial owner of every firm you close: renewals, seat growth, and cross-selling Ask Nugget into training customers and training into Ask Nugget customers. Customer Experience spots the expansion signals; you close them.
- Run a clean CRM and a forecast you'd stand behind in a pipeline review. Review your own calls and act on the coaching.
- Feed what you hear back into the business: lead quality to marketing, content gaps and product requests to the product and learning teams, and what works into the sales playbook we're building right now.
Who this suits
Someone who sells consultatively and has a growth mindset.
- 2–3 years of sales experience, ideally in SaaS, with the track record to prove it.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and making a call, rather than waiting to be spoonfed the answer.
- Pick up new software fast without needing much hand-holding.
- Is AI-fluent and understands how to use it to 10x your output.
- Never satisfied with the status quo. The company's own shorthand for this is "be a badass"
Why this is different
It's also early. The sales team is small and scaling fast around you. Come in now, and you're helping write the playbook and growing into mid-market accounts as you prove yourself; not inheriting someone else's territory and someone else's process.
