The Company

The Irish Times Group is Ireland’s leading independent quality news publishing organisation, owned by The Irish Times Trust and managed by The Irish Times DAC, evolving from a six-day print publisher into a seven-day, multi-platform media group encompassing titles such as The Irish Times, Irish Examiner, The Echo, regional newspapers, The GLOSS Magazine, and digital platforms including MyHome.ie and RIP.ie, reaching millions of readers across Ireland and internationally.

The Role

Our Media Solutions team is at the forefront of the media industry, dedicated to crafting impactful media solutions that resonate with audiences and deliver unparalleled value to our clients.

We are seeking a driven Account Executive to join the Recruitment & Education team as part of our Media Solutions division.

We connect with audiences at every stage of life and career, from students exploring their future at Higher Options, which welcomes 30,000 students every year, to graduates starting their careers, experienced professionals considering their next move and business leaders and C-suite executives recognised through initiatives such as The Irish Times Business Awards. Through our digital platforms, podcasts, video content, partnerships and major events, we offer employers meaningful opportunities to build their brand, showcase career opportunities and connect with the talent they want to attract.

Joining our team means being part of a leading Irish media group that combines heritage and trust with innovation, creativity and an evolving range of media solutions. It's an opportunity to work with well-known brands and help employers connect with the right people across Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

  • New Business Development: Proactively research target organisations, identify key decision-makers and new contacts across recruitment, HR, education and marketing, and initiate outreach to generate new business opportunities.
  • Market Opportunities: Monitor market activity, competitor offerings and industry trends to identify emerging opportunities and potential new revenue streams across recruitment and education.
  • Campaign Delivery: Coordinate with internal teams to ensure campaigns are delivered effectively, monitor performance and identify opportunities for further activity.
  • Product Development: Identify opportunities to grow revenue through new commercial partnerships, event sponsorships, content-led campaigns and innovative advertising solutions across The Irish Times Group's portfolio.
  • CRM and Administration: Maintain accurate client records, sales activity and pipeline information, ensuring CRM systems are kept up to date.
  • Industry Engagement: Represent The Irish Times Group at relevant client meetings, events, conferences and promotional activities.
  • Learning and Development: Take an active role in training and development, building knowledge of advertising solutions and the recruitment and education markets.

  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare presentations and articulate ideas clearly.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn CRM and sales reporting systems.
