Account Manager - Transformer & Dielectric Fluids Reports To: Director of Sales Location: Remote / Field-Based (Canada) Travel: Approximately 50% Employment Type: Full-Time About Soltex Soltex is a specialty chemical distribution company headquartered in The Woodlands, Texas, with a growing footprint across North America. We partner with leading global manufacturers to deliver high-performance chemical solutions across industries including transformer and dielectric fluids, lubricants, metalworking, CASE, agriculture, and industrial applications. Our success is built on technical expertise, strong customer relationships, and a commitment to service excellence. As part of our continued growth, Soltex is seeking an Account Manager to support expansion in Canada, with a focus on transformer oils and dielectric fluids. Position Summary The Account Manager is responsible for driving sales growth and strengthening customer relationships across Canada and the Northeast United States within the transformer oil, dielectric fluids and Soltex markets. This remote, field-based role is suited to a self-motivated sales professional who excels at developing technical credibility, identifying new opportunities, and delivering consistent results. The position offers strong internal support, representation of a respected industry brand, and long-term growth potential within a strategic territory. Territory Coverage The territory includes Canada and the Northeast United States, with primary emphasis on Ontario and Quebec. Candidates must reside within the core customer region and be able to travel regularly to customer sites and the Belleville, Ontario production facility. Key Responsibilities Manage and grow assigned accounts to achieve sales and business plan objectives Identify and develop new business opportunities, applications, and market segments Build and maintain relationships with key customer decision-makers Promote Soltex's product portfolio, with emphasis on transformer oils and dielectric fluids Monitor customer needs, market trends, pricing, and competitive activity Maintain accurate sales records, forecasts, and account documentation Analyze sales performance and adjust strategies to meet territory goals Conduct regular customer meetings to review performance and expand share of wallet Collaborate with internal sales, technical, and customer service teams Represent Soltex at industry events, trade shows, and conferences as required Ensure compliance with company policies related to forecasting, credit, expenses, and ethics Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor's degree required, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field preferred 3-5 years of experience in the chemical and/or transformer and dielectric industry, with preference for experience in: Transformer oils Dielectric fluids Lubricants or specialty fluids Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-management skills Proven ability to manage a territory, prioritize accounts, and meet sales objectives Comfortable working independently in a remote, field-based environment Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and adaptable to new systems Physical & Travel Requirements Frequent travel throughout the assigned territory Ability to sit, stand, walk, and lift up to 10 pounds as required Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions
