Accountant — Client Advisory

📍 Remote (South Africa) | Supporting a US-based client | Permanent via Employer of Record (6-month initial contract)

We're hiring on behalf of a founder-led US accounting and financial advisory firm supporting SMBs across tech, general contracting, and professional services — including a growing wealth management practice. You'll own core bookkeeping and monthly reporting for a client account, then grow into a client-facing advisory role as an extension of their Financial Controller.

What you'll do:

• Own accurate, timely monthly bookkeeping and financial reporting
• Manage month-end close in QuickBooks Online, improving efficiency as you go
• Prepare management reports and financial insights
• Partner with the internal accounting team and external advisors
• Grow into strategic analysis, tax-efficiency reviews, and direct client advisory conversations

What you'll need:

• SAIPA/SAICA/AGA/CIMA qualified, articles completed at a small-to-medium accounting firm
• 5+ years' experience in bookkeeping, financial reporting, and management reporting
• QuickBooks Online required; advanced Excel
• Based in South Africa with a dedicated home office, reliable internet, and backup power
• Fluent English; comfortable working 14:00–18:00 SA time to overlap with US hours
• Self-directed, client-service oriented, and excited to work with AI-driven finance tools
