Accountant - Afrikaans

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Afrikaans Accountant who can work across multiple entities. You will manage payroll and statutory submissions and operate effectively in a fast-paced remote environment.

Whilst the role is remote, you will be required to attend meetings about 4 times a year.

Education and Experience Required:

· BCom Accounting or similar degree essential (No Diplomas)

· 4-5 years' accounting experience

· Solid Pastel experience

· Experience with payroll

· Experience working across multiple companies or entities

· Fluent in Afrikaans and English

· Strong numerical accuracy and reconciliation skills

· Logical thinker with good problem-solving ability

· Quick learner with strong initiative

· Able to work independently from home and manage time effectively

· Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

· Stable track record

Key Responsibilities:

· Process accounting transactions up to trial balance

· Process payroll on Sage Payroll Professional

· Handle statutory returns including VAT201, EMP201, EMP501 reconciliations, provisional tax, and

income tax

· Prepare audit schedules including asset registers, leave provisions, and related supporting documents

· Assist auditors with queries during audit periods

· Check and verify payments on Standard Bank Business Online

· Perform supplier reconciliations

· Complete VAT reconciliations

· Maintain inventory records on Microsoft systems

· Complete ROE submissions

· Prepare UIF declarations and UIF claim forms

· Assist with preparation of management accounts, including income statement and cash flow statement
