Role Description This is a full-time remote role for an Accountant at Today's Accounting & Tax Services. The Accountant will manage day-to-day bookkeeping, prepare financial statements, maintain general ledgers, and reconcile accounts for multiple clients. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing tax returns, ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations, and assisting with tax planning. The role involves analyzing financial data, identifying variances, and providing recommendations to improve accuracy and efficiency. The Accountant will collaborate with clients via email and virtual meetings, respond to inquiries, and support periodic audits or reviews. The position requires consistent documentation, use of accounting software, and adherence to firm policies and deadlines.
Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in general accounting, financial statement preparation, and account reconciliation.
• Candidates should possess skills in tax preparation, tax compliance, and basic tax planning for individuals and small businesses.
• Candidates should possess skills in bookkeeping, ledger maintenance, and accurate data entry using accounting software.
• Candidates should possess skills in financial analysis, variance identification, and problem-solving to support client decision-making.
• Candidates should possess skills in written and verbal communication, client service, and collaboration in a remote environment.
• Relevant qualifications such as a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field are preferred; CPA or EA certification is a plus.
• Experience with common accounting and tax software, proficiency in spreadsheets, and strong organizational skills are beneficial.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and maintain confidentiality of client information is required.
