Accountant – Level V

Location: Remote -Canada

Contract term: October 19, 2026 – May 18, 2027

Compensation: $84–$94 per hour

We are seeking a senior Accountant with strong cost accounting and inventory experience to support financial operations, inventory management, and reporting. The successful candidate will partner with Operations, FP&A, and other cross-functional teams to ensure accurate inventory valuation, cost of goods sold, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cost accounting calculations, processes, systems, policies, and procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate inventory balances and cost of goods sold (COGS), and resolve inventory discrepancies.
• Conduct quarterly standard cost reviews with Operations, assessing changes and their financial impact.
• Reconcile 3PL records and vendor shipments, and analyze goods in transit.
• Support implementation of an inventory management system, including testing and process design.
• Prepare monthly journal entries and reconciliations for assigned accounts during month-end close.
• Review financial statements for assigned areas, prepare fluctuation analyses, and present findings to senior management.
• Analyze and report on product costs, COGS, margins, and profitability.
• Support the FP&A team with financial reports for senior management.
• Identify process issues and recommend and implement improvements to inventory valuation and management.
• Lead quarter-end and year-end audits and reviews, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
• Oversee the cycle-count process.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

• CPA designation.
• Strong experience in cost accounting and inventory accounting or management.
• Experience with standard costing, inventory valuation, COGS, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
• Experience supporting month-end close, financial statement review, and audit activities.
• Ability to work effectively with Operations, FP&A, and other cross-functional partners.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
