Accountant - Tax Reconciliations

The role offers broad exposure to GST/PST, non-resident withholding tax and royalty reconciliations, along with month-end, reporting and audit activities.
This is a contract through March 1st, 2027.

What- The Role:
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accountant, Tax Reconciliations will be responsible for the reconciliation and remittance of tax and royalty/license accounts across several business entities, as well as other tasks as assigned. Duties consist of reviewing, investigating, and reconciling account activity, preparing journal entries, and filing statutory tax slips in a high-volume environment. Other responsibilities will include assisting with audit requests and other month-end and quarter-end procedures.
- Prepare monthly/quarterly tax (GST, Provincial taxes, Non-Resident Withholding) reconciliations and remittances for several business entities
- Prepare quarterly royalty/license reconciliations and remittances
- Prepare and file year-end T4A-NR slips
- Investigate and resolve tax-related reconciling items and discrepancies
- Prepare journal entries related to tax and royalty activity
- Assist with audit requests
- Support month-end procedures
- Support quarterly reporting requirements
- Reconciliation projects as assigned
- Other duties and projects as assigned
Who- the Candidate:
- Strong analytical skills and very detail oriented
- Strong organizational & time management abilities
- Able to clearly and concisely present, both visually and verbally, complicated reconciliation data
- Familiarity with Canadian indirect tax (GST/PST) and non-resident withholding tax rules
- 2+ years tax preparation, tax reconciliation, or general ledger reconciliation experience
- Strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with Oracle Fusion preferred
- Experience with AI an asset
How much:
$38-$40/hr + 4% vacation pay.
Where:
Vancouver, hybrid schedule, 3 days onsite, 2 remote.
