Accounting Manager

Job Description: The Manager, Accounting, is responsible for the complete and accurate reporting of financials, ensuring strong financial controls, compliance, and operational efficiency. This role partners closely with cross-functional stakeholders to support business objectives while maintaining a high level of accuracy and accountability. A Manager follows the direction of senior management and ensures that the team or department is properly staffed, employees have the training and tools needed, OKRs are achieved, and the department operates within approved budgets. This role serves as a tactical leader responsible for day-to-day operations, decision-making, and team performance. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management Lead, coach, and develop a team of accounting professionals Hire, train, evaluate performance, and provide ongoing feedback to team members Assign and prioritize work to meet service targets and deadlines Communicate departmental policies, procedures, and strategy Financial Reporting & Controls Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including review of both internal and external reporting Oversee billing processes to confirm accuracy and completeness of revenue Ensure liabilities are properly recorded, including accruals for unapproved invoices Maintain strong controls, documentation, and segregation of duties across the function Partner with internal and external audit teams as needed Accounting Operations Oversee and manage cash reconciliation processes, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies Review and approve balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring proper documentation and support for all account balances Support and oversee revenue recognition processes, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards (ASC 606) Manage accounting activities related to capitalized software (internal-use software), including tracking and proper capitalization practices Oversee lease accounting activities, ensuring proper application of ASC 842 Manage prepaid expenses and related amortization schedules, ensuring accuracy and appropriate expense recognition Support preparation of financial statements and management reporting Process Improvement & Collaboration Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives across accounting processes Partner with cross-functional teams to support organizational goals Provide consultative support to stakeholders across the business Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and values Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience) 6–8+ years of relevant accounting experience Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting Experience managing or leading teams Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines Preferred Qualifications While not required, a strong combination of the following experience is highly desirable: Experience with Workday Financials Knowledge of revenue recognition (ASC 606) Experience in a SaaS or subscription-based business model Background in banking, fintech, or financial services Experience managing offshore or global resources Familiarity with IDSW capitalization (internal-use software accounting) Knowledge of lease accounting (ASC 842) What Success Looks Like Accurate and timely financial reporting with strong internal controls Well-managed accounting processes with minimal errors or delays High-performing team that meets service and reporting objectives Strong collaboration across departments and stakeholders Continuous improvement in efficiency, scalability, and compliance Work Environment Collaborative, fast-paced environment working with cross-functional teams Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously Interaction with internal leadership, external auditors, and key stakeholders As a forward-thinking software provider, Computer Services, Inc.
