About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Accounting Onboarding Manager to lead our client onboarding function and develop our onboarding team.

In this role, you'll ensure every new client transitions smoothly into production with clean, accurate books, properly configured accounting systems, and documented processes. You'll also coach and mentor new bookkeeping team members, helping them build the technical skills and confidence needed to succeed.

What You'll Do

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, coach, and mentor onboarding team members and new hires.
• Conduct training sessions, walkthroughs, and live coaching on U.S. bookkeeping processes and best practices.
• Assign onboarding projects and bookkeeping tasks strategically to support employee development.
• Review work before client delivery to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality.
• Provide ongoing performance feedback and coaching.
• Partner with leadership and recruiting teams to evaluate onboarding progress and production readiness.
• Improve onboarding documentation, SOPs, and training materials.

Client Onboarding

• Manage the end-to-end onboarding process for new bookkeeping clients.
• Ensure clean, accurate books and properly configured accounting systems before transitioning clients to production.
• Coordinate client onboarding timelines, assignments, and project completion.
• Review reconciliations, financial reports, and supporting documentation.
• Lead bookkeeping cleanup projects, catch-up bookkeeping, accounting system implementations, and software migrations when needed.
• Participate in client onboarding meetings and provide exceptional client service.
• Continuously improve onboarding processes for greater efficiency, consistency, and scalability.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of U.S. bookkeeping experience.
• Previous leadership or people management experience.
• Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Online.
• Experience working in a U.S. bookkeeping, accounting, or CPA firm.
• Strong understanding of month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple clients, projects, and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor Certification.
• Experience training or mentoring accounting professionals.
• Experience implementing accounting systems or leading bookkeeping cleanup projects.
