About Our Client
Our client is a U.S.-based live events and audiovisual production company with a lean, high-performance structure.
The Accounting Manager will report to the Senior Director of Operations and serve as the company’s accounting authority. You’ll also collaborate with an HR & Finance Coordinator who handles basic bookkeeping tasks. While you won’t directly manage this person, you’ll establish accounting standards and ensure transactions are recorded accurately.
About The Role
This role combines hands-on accounting with full ownership. You’ll lead the monthly close, manage reconciliations, revenue recognition, and job costing, and proactively identify and resolve discrepancies.
The ideal candidate doesn’t wait for leadership to spot an issue. You’ll investigate it, fix it, and provide a clear summary of the resolution.
What You’ll Do
- Own day-to-day accounting activities under U.S. GAAP.
- Lead the monthly close process accurately and on schedule.
- Manage revenue recognition for production contracts, show settlements, and non-standard deals.
- Maintain accurate job costing across events and productions.
- Handle intercompany transactions and one-time accounting activities.
- Establish transaction-recording standards and guide the HR & Finance Coordinator.
- Reconcile accounts and independently resolve discrepancies or process gaps.
- Maintain organized, complete, and audit-ready financial records.
- Provide leadership with clear and reliable financial information.
What We’re Looking For
- 4+ years of hands-on accounting experience.
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
- Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks Online.
- Experience managing monthly close processes and reconciliations.
- Hands-on experience with job costing and revenue recognition.
- Ability to work independently and make accounting judgment calls.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken.
- Availability during U.S. Eastern Time business hours.
Nice to Have
- CPA designation or active CPA candidacy.
- Experience in live events, audiovisual production, touring, or entertainment.
- Familiarity with show budgets, vendor settlements, and production costs.
- Experience supporting a U.S.-based company remotely.
- Exposure to multi-entity or intercompany accounting.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys autonomy, takes pride in maintaining clean books, and thrives in a lean, fast-moving environment.
