Role Description The Accounting Specialist is a full-time, remote role responsible for supporting BisChat’s financial operations and ensuring accurate, timely reporting. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements. The role involves maintaining and updating records in accounting software, monitoring cash flow and expenses, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. The Accounting Specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights, help maintain compliance with internal policies, and assist with audits and documentation. This position also contributes to the improvement of accounting processes and controls in a fast-paced, technology-focused environment.
Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Financial Statements and Finance to support reporting and analysis.
• Candidates should possess practical experience with Accounting Software and Journal Entries (Accounting) for accurate recordkeeping.
• Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills to interpret financial data and identify trends or discrepancies.
• Relevant education such as a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles, GAAP, and familiarity with audit and compliance processes.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a remote setting.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and comfort collaborating with distributed teams.
• Experience in a startup or technology environment is beneficial, as is proficiency with spreadsheet tools (e.g., Excel).
