Accounting Support Specialist

We are looking for a Business Systems & Accounting Support Specialist to join our globally distributed team!

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in accounting operations, particularly Accounts Receivable, ledgers, reconciliations, and financial research, combined with experience working within ERP or business systems environments.

What You'll Do

Accounting & Resident Account Support

• Investigate and resolve resident ledger discrepancies.
• Perform resident account transactions, including rent changes, charge corrections, payment adjustments, credits, and other account maintenance activities.
• Audit Accounts Receivable reports and partner with Property Operations and Accounting teams to resolve discrepancies.
• Research account balances, payments, charges, and adjustments to ensure accuracy.
• Reconcile resident account activity and identify the root cause of financial discrepancies.

Systems & User Support

• Provide frontline support for system-related requests and user issues.
• Troubleshoot system and transaction-related issues and implement solutions.
• Train and support end users on system functionality and best practices.
• Support testing, system enhancements, implementations, and process improvement initiatives.
• Maintain documentation, procedures, and knowledge-sharing resources.

Collaboration

• Partner with Accounting, Property Operations, and Business Systems teams to improve workflows and system utilization.
• Manage multiple priorities and projects while working independently.
• Support the Director of Business Systems with special projects and strategic initiatives.

What You Bring

Required

• 3+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounting Operations, Property Accounting, Bookkeeping, or a related accounting function involving account reconciliations, transaction research, and discrepancy resolution.
• Strong understanding of customer, tenant, or resident ledgers.
• Experience researching and resolving financial discrepancies.
• Experience working with charges, payments, credits, adjustments, reconciliations, and account analysis.
• Experience using ERP, accounting, or property management systems to process, investigate, and correct transactions.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and customer service mindset.

Highly Preferred

• Property accounting, property management, real estate, multifamily housing, or affordable housing experience.
• Experience with Yardi software.
• Experience supporting users in business systems, ERP platforms, software applications, or helpdesk environments.
• Experience with NetSuite, MRI, AppFolio, Entrata, SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.
• Experience training users and documenting processes.
