About the role As an Accounts Payable Trainee, you will join Essity’s Global Business Services team in Lisbon, supporting accounts payable activities in Europe. This is a hands-on learning opportunity where you will gain exposure to core finance processes while working closely with experienced professionals in an international setting. You will be part of a collaborative Finance team within our Business Shared Service Centre, where accuracy, teamwork, and continuous improvement are key. Throughout the traineeship, you will develop a strong understanding of the end-to-end accounts payable cycle, internal controls, and stakeholder collaboration, while building a solid foundation for a future career in finance. What You Will Do Invoice Processing: Support the processing and validation of supplier invoices in line with internal guidelines and service level agreements. Supplier Statements: Review and process supplier statements, payment reminders and ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies. Stakeholder Support: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to respond to queries and support smooth day-to-day operations. General Ledger Support: Assist with basic general ledger reconciliations and accounting activities. Internal Controls: Participate in key internal control activities to ensure compliance and process integrity. Process Learning: Observe and learn best practices by shadowing experienced colleagues across accounts payable activities. Who You Are You are currently pursuing or have recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. You have a strong interest in finance operations and are motivated to learn about accounts payable processes in a global environment. You are comfortable working with MS Office tools and are keen to develop your technical and analytical skills. You bring strong communication skills, a proactive mindset, good time management, and the ability to work accurately while meeting deadlines. You are comfortable communicating in English, both written and spoken, to collaborate with international teams. All resumes should be submitted in English .
