Accounts Payable Representative

Position Overview

The Accounts Payable Representative is responsible for ensuring invoices are processed accurately and within agreed upon terms. They will assist in maintaining files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with Company policy and accepted accounting practices. Special projects will be assigned at the discretion of department management.

Location: This position follows a hybrid schedule requiring 4 days in-office at our Whippany, NJ location and 1 day remote.

Key Accountabilities

• Receive, review, and verify invoices
• Identify and research any issues with invoices and/or required documentation received
• Accurately data enter invoices for payment in a timely matter
• Develop strong working relationships with both internal and external business partners
• Respond timely to A/P inquiries
• Correspond with vendors and internal clients to research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
• Assist in month end closing
• Assist with any A/P audits
• Perform job responsibilities in the absence of A/P staff as needed

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, advanced Excel skills
• Must have strong interpersonal skills with excellent verbal/written communications
• Strong customer service skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently or as a team member

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• Knowledge of general accounting principles

The hiring range for this position ranges from $23.72 - $30 per hour. The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidates' relevant skills and experience.
