Accounts Payable Specialist

Role Description The Accounts Payable Specialist is a full-time remote role responsible for managing and processing vendor invoices, expense reports, and payments in a timely and accurate manner. Day-to-day tasks include verifying invoice details, coding expenses to appropriate accounts, preparing and posting journal entries, and reconciling accounts payable transactions. The role also involves responding to vendor inquiries, resolving discrepancies, and collaborating with the finance and accounting teams to ensure compliance with company policies and standard accounting practices. The specialist will assist with month-end closing activities, maintain organized records and documentation, and support continuous improvement of accounts payable processes. This position requires strong attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Finance and Accounting skills, with experience in general ledger processes and basic financial principles.
• Candidates should possess skills in Expense Reports and Journal Entries (Accounting), including accurate coding, tracking, and posting of transactions.
• Candidates should possess Analytical Skills to review financial data, identify variances or issues, and support problem-solving within accounts payable.
• Candidates should possess proficiency with accounting or ERP software, spreadsheets (e.g., Excel), and digital document management tools.
• Relevant qualifications include prior experience in accounts payable or a similar accounting role, preferably in a service or fitness-related environment.
• Additional beneficial qualifications include a high level of accuracy, strong organizational skills, clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to meet deadlines while working remotely.
• An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field is preferred but equivalent work experience will be considered.
