Why you want to work for our Finance team:

The Finance department offers a collaborative environment where interns can learn how financial operations support a growing business. The team safeguards the company’s financial data and assets, partners across the organization, and continuously improves and automates processes. Working with guidance from experienced team members, the intern will build practical finance and business skills while contributing to day-to-day operations and process improvement efforts. If you are eager to learn, detail-oriented, collaborative, and interested in developing a foundation in finance operations, Accruent may be a fit for you.

This internship reports directly to the Accounts Receivable Manager and will be fully remote.

How you'll make a difference:

  • Support timely and accurate invoice processing under the guidance of Accounts Receivable team members.
  • Assist with collection-related research and follow-up activities.
  • Enter and validate invoice information in the ERP system.
  • Research customer account questions and help document findings for dispute resolution.
  • Review incoming orders for completeness and escalate questions before invoicing.
  • Help maintain customer contact information and supporting documentation, including tax exemption forms.
  • Organize and maintain accounts receivable files and records.
  • Assist with preparing documentation for credit memo requests and customer account adjustments.
  • Follow established procedures and learn how accounts receivable transactions support SOX compliance.
  • Participate in team projects and identify opportunities to improve documentation or processes.

What you bring to the table:

  • Currently pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, or recently completed a relevant program.
  • Interest in learning accounts receivable, billing, and finance operations.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize assignments with guidance.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfort working collaboratively with team members and communicating professionally with internal partners and customers.
  • Willingness to ask questions, receive feedback, and learn new systems and processes.
  • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
  • Basic problem-solving skills and the ability to meet agreed-upon deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Preferred Skills/Experience:
    • Coursework or project experience related to accounting, finance, or business operations.
    • Exposure to Salesforce, NetSuite, or another business system.
    • Previous internship, part-time work, volunteer experience, or team-based project experience is helpful but not required.
