Accounts Receivable Specialist - Remote Company: Freightera Logistics Inc. About the Position Freightera is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our accounting team. This is a full-time contract position with the potential to lead to permanent employment based on performance and business needs. The successful candidate will perform customer invoicing, payment processing, account reconciliation, record maintenance and customer account inquiries. This position is suitable for a recent accounting graduate or someone with minimum 2 years’ bookkeeping, accounts receivable or general accounting experience. They will be trained on Freightera’s internal systems and procedures. Key Responsibilities · Process and record customer invoices and payments accurately · Review customer accounts and accounting entries for accuracy and completeness · Maintain organized and up-to-date invoice, payment and account records · Apply incoming payments to the appropriate customer accounts and invoices · Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies · Investigate missing payments, incorrect applications and account irregularities · Communicate with customers timely and professionally regarding invoices, payments and account balances · Follow up on missing payments, payment information and supporting documentation · Escalate complex account issues to senior accounting team members when necessary · Protect confidential customer and financial information · Assist with reporting, data entry and other accounting-related duties as assigned Qualifications Candidates should meet at least one of the following requirements: · A bachelor’s degree or diploma in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field; or · Relevant experience in bookkeeping, accounts receivable or general accounting Recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Required Skills · Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy · Understanding of accounting and bookkeeping principles · Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills · Strong organizational and time-management abilities · Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines · Ability to work independently in a remote environment · Comfortable asking questions when information or instructions are unclear · Good judgment when handling confidential financial information · Ability to identify discrepancies and follow through until they are resolved · Willingness to learn, accept feedback and adapt to new processes · Comfortable using email, video conferencing and online collaboration tools Preferred Qualifications · Experience with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets · Experience with QuickBooks · Previous experience processing invoices or customer payments · Experience reconciling customer accounts · Previous experience in logistics, transportation or another high-volume transactional environment Preferred qualifications are considered assets and are not mandatory.
