Role Purpose:
We are looking for an Actuarial Analyst to support the Actuarial Team in planning, steering and monitoring the performance of the UK portfolio, helping the business achieve targeted profitability levels across the insurance cycle.
The successful candidate will play an important role in actuarial reporting, pricing, portfolio analysis, regulatory reporting, data management and the continuous improvement of reporting processes.
Responsibilities:
Support annual planning, forecasting and quarterly reporting activity.
Assist with actuarial modelling, including loss modelling, projections and profitability analysis.
Support pricing, rate monitoring, aggregate monitoring and Nat Cat reporting.
Contribute to regulatory reporting requirements, including IFRS17, Solvency II and FCA product reviews.
Analyse and validate client, underwriting and actuarial data to support reporting and decision-making.
Help improve the accuracy, efficiency and automation of MI and actuarial reporting processes.
Support quality assurance activity across actuarial analysis, pricing and data reporting.
Work collaboratively with internal teams, including underwriting, technical accounting and IT.
About you:
Degree (or equivalent) in a numerate subject (e.g., mathematics, statistics, economics, physics).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret results and sense-check outputs.
Working knowledge of insurance products and markets, with a foundational understanding of pricing and risk.
Experience manipulating and analysing data using spreadsheets and/or analytical tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, R, Power BI).
Experience building, validating, or documenting models (e.g., pricing, reserving, capital, forecasting).
Good understanding of statistical concepts (e.g., distributions, regression, time series, sampling) and how they apply to real-world data.
