About Us

We are a risk-focused organization committed to strengthening financial resilience through actuarial analysis, quantitative risk management, sound governance, and data-driven decision-making.

Our distributed teams collaborate across Actuarial, Risk Management, Finance, Underwriting, Investments, Treasury, Compliance, Legal, Data Science, Product, Operations, Internal Audit, Regulators, and Executive Leadership to identify, quantify, monitor, and mitigate financial and insurance-related risks.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Actuarial Risk Manager to lead actuarial risk assessment, financial modeling, capital analysis, reserving oversight, risk monitoring, stress testing, scenario analysis, and actuarial governance.

The ideal candidate will combine strong actuarial expertise with enterprise risk management, quantitative analysis, financial modeling, regulatory knowledge, and strategic business judgment.

The role will be responsible for assessing current and emerging risks, developing actuarial models, monitoring capital adequacy, evaluating assumptions, supporting risk appetite frameworks, and providing senior leadership with quantitative insights into financial risk and resilience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement actuarial risk-management strategies, policies, frameworks, standards, and governance processes aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Identify, assess, quantify, and monitor insurance, financial, market, credit, liquidity, operational, and emerging risks within the organization's risk framework.
  • Develop actuarial risk models to assess potential losses, liabilities, capital requirements, profitability, and financial resilience.
  • Perform actuarial analysis across pricing, reserving, claims, mortality, morbidity, longevity, lapse, catastrophe, and other relevant risk areas.
  • Review actuarial assumptions, methodologies, models, data sources, and calculation processes to ensure robustness and appropriateness.
  • Monitor changes in risk exposure and identify trends that may affect financial performance, solvency, capital adequacy, or business strategy.
  • Conduct stress testing and scenario analysis covering adverse market conditions, claims deterioration, economic changes, catastrophe events, interest-rate movements, inflation, mortality or morbidity changes, and other relevant scenarios.
  • Develop quantitative assessments of potential financial impacts and recommend appropriate risk-mitigation strategies.
  • Support the development and monitoring of risk appetite frameworks, risk limits, tolerance thresholds, and key risk indicators.
  • Monitor actual risk exposure against approved risk appetite and escalate material breaches or emerging concerns.
  • Support capital-management activities and assess capital adequacy under base-case and stressed scenarios.
  • Conduct solvency and capital assessments in accordance with applicable regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Support Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) processes where applicable.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Actuarial teams on reserving, financial reporting, liability valuation, and actuarial estimates.
  • Review technical provisions, reserves, claims liabilities, and other actuarial estimates from a risk-management perspective.
  • Analyze claims development, loss ratios, combined ratios, expense ratios, and other relevant actuarial and insurance performance indicators.
  • Assess the risk implications of product design, underwriting strategies, pricing decisions, policy terms, and changes in business mix.
  • Work with Underwriting and Product teams to evaluate risk selection, pricing adequacy, portfolio concentration, and profitability.
  • Support reinsurance strategy by analyzing risk transfer, retention levels, catastrophe exposure, counterparty risk, and reinsurance effectiveness.
  • Evaluate reinsurance structures, treaties, limits, deductibles, attachment points, and other risk-transfer arrangements where applicable.
  • Monitor concentration risks across products, geographies, customers, counterparties, industries, and other relevant dimensions.
  • Develop actuarial and risk dashboards covering key exposures, capital metrics, claims trends, profitability, reserves, risk appetite, and emerging risks.
  • Establish and monitor key risk indicators and early-warning indicators to identify deterioration in risk performance.
  • Conduct model validation, sensitivity analysis, assumption testing, and scenario analysis to assess model reliability.
  • Collaborate with Data Science, Technology, and Analytics teams to improve actuarial models, data quality, automation, and analytical capabilities.
  • Review data quality, completeness, consistency, and appropriateness for actuarial and risk-management purposes.
  • Support the development and implementation of predictive models, machine-learning applications, and advanced analytics where appropriate.
  • Monitor applicable actuarial, insurance, financial, and regulatory requirements and assess their impact on risk-management processes.
  • Work with Compliance and Legal teams to ensure actuarial risk practices meet applicable UAE and international regulatory expectations.
  • Support regulatory submissions, actuarial reports, capital assessments, risk disclosures, and other regulatory requirements where applicable.
  • Coordinate with Internal Audit and external assurance providers on actuarial-risk reviews, model governance, capital assessments, and control evaluations.
  • Maintain comprehensive actuarial risk registers, model inventories, assumption registers, risk reports, capital assessments, scenario analyses, and governance documentation.
  • Establish appropriate model-governance frameworks covering model development, validation, approval, documentation, monitoring, and change management.
  • Identify model risks and develop mitigation strategies for assumption uncertainty, data limitations, model limitations, and implementation risks.
  • Provide actuarial risk insights to senior management, executive committees, risk committees, and the Board where appropriate.
  • Prepare risk reports, actuarial analyses, scenario assessments, capital reviews, executive presentations, and strategic recommendations.
